if i remember it should inflate to 87gb with xtool(zstd) or you can use ztool 32bit with libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll...

KaktoR, i did Andromeda too some time ago, just looked to my installer and its 29,6GB (a bit higher then doofoo24) but with d64 on lolz, so size should be something around 29-30gb without problem.

If it helps, i didnt touched on this game the chunksize on xtool, it was default by ultraarc 2900, if i remember well c32mb on xtool and other tools included on uarc 2900. I remember this because it was one of my first conversions here hehehe.

Edit: Also my original ripped size (after ripping files) is 2gb lower then yours v1.10 too.

I'm on 88GB inflate, have just checked (without extra stuff like soundtrack).

Latest version directly from Origin (legit copy), EN+FR language ripped (except subtitle files, they are just a few kb in size).

I will let lolz running over night with d128m option only.

Maybe german language files are bigger KaktoR, i just removed all languages (only let english) and all other bonus stuff but with subtitles (legit too from Origin as my others ME Games). I cant exactly remember all stuff i have ripped, are languages only EN+FR+DE ? Im not sure but IT is almost included on all ME Games as voice language too (not sure about andromeda). My game size doesnt reach 47gb with all those stuff ripped (have to install it again but on installer it says i need 46800 so i suppose its something like that haha).

Ok yes, english voice files are ~2.09GB, german voice files are ~2.6GB

This game only has EN/FR/DE voice.

Yeah, this also happens to much more games. Some have small difference in sizes and others have big ones (so dont wonder if you get some mb less or more on same compressions). And those language files are always sound files, so they dont compress well.

You could even unpack all videos, rename file extension from bikc to bik and apply bpk on them. After installing write batch to pack the folders/files back to archive with jc3packer.

i split zlib and non zlib
there are 104,397 files pftxs/ftex/ftexs contain zlib size 14,975,002,352 byte...
rest of the files 35,664 non zlib in the master folder size 11,135,488,732 byte...

Hi, here is a new method for this game, this time with better installation time and better ratio (it fits perfect in a bd25 disc). My idea was to not touch this game again in 1-2 weeks but DiCaPrIo gave me an idea yesterday to make it work with ztool.

I did another little test with xtool setting up same chunksize and using latest zlib version from official page. Seems the ratio is a little bit better but is also much more faster. Have to try it with the full game, maybe in 1 week or 2.

@JustFun, if you wish you can delete my previous method or leave it but this is almost better except for the compression time.

Trying with XTool now and seems to get very slow at 2.4% (it's now on 3.2% and 4 hours gone into the land). Something is wrong with the streams of this game i guess.

PS: My installation is only 42.3GB with only 1 language.

It didn't work for me too.
I tried both method (xtool and pzlib)
it was very slow and it showed197 hours remaining so I canceled it. any new setting?

Dishonored 2 is a real pain, the only method that works is using latest ZTool and its important to use it with chuncksize 256m or it will not work (crc errors on installation). Its slow, seems sometimes that it freezes but let it go for some hours (takes about 8-9 hours only on ztool, maybe more on slower systems).

For xTool i downloaded the official zlib dll (but one of razors test dll works too, the test2 or test3, cant remember now) and its faster. That was the reason why i didnt post the full method of the game on Xtool, because there are more steps then just using xTool.

Also my ripped size is less then 41gb (didnt touched the game again with the new updates hahah)

To be sure, use ztool, its slow but its finally doing it (even if its seems to freeze sometimes, its going faster later)

Yeah i spend many days on it,even done before a reflate method in dirty way (it was my nightmare hahaha). Do you remember that i send you a pack for xtool on private on these days? If you have it, it has the official page .dll that i used some weeks later.

Also it works perfect on ztool, dont be scared if it says 200 hours, its because it freezes a bit and is slow inflating the whole game. I think that with latest updates it can take 10 hours only on ztool but at least it will install fine and is fast on installation.

Simorq, is that v2 the test v2 from the dev forum of xtool? It was the version i used later and it was fast but also downloading the zlibwapi from the official page and replacing it on xtool v0.9 works too and is also fast. The only issue i had was that with chunksizes c32/c64 i got crc errors on extraction. Didnt try c128 but c256 worked as on ztools (with the difference that it only tooks some minutes on xtool).

Kaktor, yes, same story for DotO (only that this one tooks a bit less hehehe).


Im scared to make this game again with the last update, had never so much problems hehehe

first off the recoding of bk2 but it was not done to reduce quality just to solve errors with bpk compression i kept the same bitrate so the video is still lossless
also i took the 1080p and reduced it to 720p with the same bitrate
recoded bk2 to bik with a .bk2 file extension so the game recongizes it

& Duplicate Video Files..

First!
Go to FFXV\datas\movies\ in here enter the first folder,
and look folder name "US" & "JP" it should be available on the same folder.

Now open "US" Folder on left side, and open "JP" Folder on right side,
Select all files on the "US" folder,
then (Press Ctrl+C) to Get Copy all files on "US" Folder..
then Paste them into "JP" Folder Click (Replace The Files)...
After Replacing Them, They Still Remain in Selected.
Then Press The DELETE Button on Keyboard, Then Enter.

Do this for all other folders!!
but some Folders had "JP" Folder only keep them untouched.

Now, Go to the Voice folder and Delete all other Languages
Go to FFXV\Datas\sound\resources\Voice\* Delete all (fr,de,it,rus...)
but keep ("US" & "JP" This is for English)

NOTE: I Have Repack 4K Res Pack Separately!

Movie folder bk2 has multi languages bk2, so i removed all except english and used bpk to compress to 8.68gb from 9.83gb (without credits).
*you can re-encoded with lower bitrate to achieve smaller size like 4gb to 5gb, so you can get 14gb -15gb final size...

method srep:m5f:d1g:a2+lolz:d64m.
if you don't won't to use Gibbed.DeusEx3 then just use srep+lolz you will get 9.68gb...

the rest of the files with srep:m5f:a2+lolz:d64.
bk2 with bpk+srep...
nothing ripped (you can remove time lapse bk2)
*note if you use m3f/m5f on forge files you can improve compression to 12.7gb but srep need 15gb of ram in dec, using m2f:c512 srep need 8gb...
it will improve install time on hhd or less write cycle on ssd.

After i try everything on that game...

srep+lzms or loz won't make any difference 100% ratio or 99.9%... And i stop during tje compression cause its not gonna work. Need precomp for that one..
maybe it zlib.. But like you said its encrypted or singed.

just use xtool 0.9 with raw2hif_dll.dll-hif2raw_dll.dll.

the files are there and same settings used that's strange, i will redownload the files again.
Are you using x86 or x64 version of xtool and it's libraries?

as i said just use xtool with (zlibwapi.dll/raw2hif_dll.dll/hif2raw_dll.dll) better to remove other dll like (lz4.dll/lzo2...)

You have scanned the data folder of the game, and you have created a list of files for each format, inserting the types of files in 3 different folders, a folder for the video formats, one for the audio formats and all the rest of the files in the last folder, in the end you have created an archive with this method "bpk+srep", a second archive with this "msc+srep", and everything else with the last method "srep+lolz" the third archive. Feasible but crazy.:eek:

Yepp, files are separated, then compressed according to the file type, for example Videos are done using -mbpk+srep, I didn't specify any extra {options}, I literally put -mbpk+srep command into cmd and left it to do its job. Why? I prefer speed!
Also Srep isn't always the best option, but I prefer it because installation is faster.

Best method doesn't always have to be smaller size, some people would rather have faster compression/installation over smaller size.

That is the point of this thread, to have multiple choices of methods to choose from, either use one that will give you smaller size or one that sacrifices few MB`s/GB˙s, but has faster compression/decompression.

I hope I clarified good enough so you guys can understand what I meant to say. ;)

bmf not stable. (does not support some cpu). (and lolz have dds filters)
raw=2 better audio search.
better -mmsc:ddsDXT=0:raw=2

or look -mtt and -mt usage.

cls-srep don't support m3 metod. need using m3f.

Totally agree with that. I think there is absolutly nothing wrong on how JustFun has posted that games, it shows how he has done the compression, the game size, version, etc... I prefer this kind of posts more then others which you dont even know game version or the original size or if even something is ripped or not (that is important). And exact parameters doesnt really matter on such small games.

I will try to explain myself what i want to say. On really small games like that, the gain between the lolz or srep settings is so small that it isnt even worth, if 20-30mb are worth to you, then fine, do it yourself and post back the results here, im pretty sure many people will appreciate it.

If i see a post without exact parameters i will use the settings according to what i can use on my machine, so same way posting in "3 words" like you say, is also useless in posting a full method because not all people have 32gb ram, or 16gb, or 8gb. As JustFun said, some people prefer speed over size, this threat is not meant to beat WorldRecord sizes in compressions, its a thread for helpings, take it as a reference.

Every person is free to post on the way he wants, complaining about that is not nice. Just my opinion, dont take things to heart xD

There is no inflate, but I'm used to testing individual groups of files, before compressing an entire game, and the method indicated is the one that most satisfied me in Time/Comp-Ratio, the result you can read of the size of the output archive.:rolleyes:
Furthermore, the compression was splitted into 3 archives, if I had created a single archive, the compression ratio would have been even lower.;)

then again i did not do it to reduce quality i did so to prevent crashes with bpk..

Yeah, im doing the same on all games where bk2 videos wont work with bpk. If you do it in good way there is no visible quality loss but its still lossy. Also its good to check if all bk2 videos are having trouble with bpk because on some games like AC Unity, only 1 video has problems with it, so there is really no need to recompress them all.

Lolz not always has better output then lzma, but the advantage of it is still decompression speed. Anyways, it depends much on cores and ram you have. Mtt0 sometimes performs better then Mtt1 but it depends on the game, also mtt0 needs at least same cores for decompression. I would try out to set mtt1 instead of mtt0, you dont really need to change mtb on mtt1 as the block size can be the same as the dictionary size, in your case d128. On mtt0 the mtb size should be always half or less then the dictionary size. Another things that can maybe help is setting up fba4096 and gm20. As its a small game you can test those things. For example, if you have 2 threads lolz:mtt1:mt2:d128m:mc1023:fba4096:gm20 (this will use something around 2.7gb of ram). If you have 4 cores and set it up to mt4 it will around 5.5gb. Another go is to do it on a single threat like mt1 and rise the dictionary size to d512 or less (depending how much ram you have). As said, as its a small game you can try out some settings but there is nothing "global" for all games, settings can be good or bad on other games.

just use test22c4b without srep
with lolz:mtt0:d384:mtb196:fba4096:dtb1:mc1023:gm20:pc4 :x2:ldl5 is the best setting for small games.
*note that ldmf work with mt1 only so no mt2 :eek:

Did someone tried using the unpacking/modding tools from RE7 on RE2R? I have made my own RE7 Gold repack into the 20gb (i think 20.1 or something), without it it would be 4-5gb bigger. Probably on RE2 you can apply the same method before using Xtool on it, at least i have already seen today some Mods for RE2, pretty sure there is already a way to unpack those .pak files.

i also repacked re7 gold edition it isn't encrypted so you can easily extract it
but anytime i go to extract re2 remake it will not allow me giving me a error its encrypted i am currently looking for something i can use for it as well

Let me know if you find something, i think there is something out, have seen some reworked textures yesterday so somehow they already managed to unpack them. Bit busy with other things but i will also take a look on this weekend. Not just for compressing the game, also taking a look how mod friendly this game could be.

Confusing compressor indeed. Currently only 4x4:t2:lzma:16mb:lc8 is the thing that works best for my shitty pc. It's fast and compression ratio is almost same as other lzma settings(2-4mb difference). Though only 16mb dictionary is used here, it actually beats 64/128/512mb dict in a lot of cases.
