I will start a bit later, i want to complete the FF series first. I hope Odyssey doesnt take more time then Origins.

Same as in Origins, Xtool:oodle won't work with big input (single files are OK). Xtool will just stop working and files will be just copied without inflating.
KaktoR can you tell me the AFR version u are using? I did the same file with mine but get a slightly different size:
Compressed 1 file, 237,207,552 => 549,824,267 bytes. Ratio 231.79%

You can use "Hibernation" for long compression times.
1:CMD Pause
2:Use ReduceMemory (https://www.sordum.org/9197/reduce-memory-v1-2/)

What was the Lolz setting?
And what is your CPU?
I started it 2 hours ago, it says 12 hours now (should be a bit more, if its going to be as origin i think that due to the lower size it should be 16-17 hours). Same settings as always on my ac games and same machine (4 cores at 3.9GHz, 8GB Ram and SSD but SSD doesnt matter, maybe its 1 minute faster due to the first temp creation).
Will post tomorrow the complete results with compression and installation times as always. Time to go to bed, hope its ready when i wake up but i dont think so hahaha.
Edit: Its almost done, total time will be around 15 hours, when i get back to home i will post install time but it looks very good.

Repack ac Odyssey v1.0.2
How did you actually have AC Odyssey original size to 45,8gb? I just deleted all foreign stuff too but i get 46.5gb on it (700mb difference). Checked game and its working fine. Even only english is on 46.4gb (i usually let only spanish). Thats removing the files from sound and video folder.
Just finished this morning with lolz, it took 15 hours to compress. Im at home now, will create the installer and see how long it takes, will update in 1-2 hours the thread with my results, the ratio was very good (im using only 128 dictionary size on lolz, its faster on compress and decompress and also has a little size increase, i played with lolz settings in the past and for me using heavy configs are not worth).

Here it goes, my repack using same method as on previous AC Games
Title: Assassin's Creed Odyssey (legit version)
Tools used: Ultraarc 2900 R5, Lolz, SREP, Binkpack, AFR
Method: Mask with AFR+SREP+LOLZ on .forge files/ Binkpack for .bk2 files & SREP+LOLZ on all other files. As a sidenote, im using lolz with d128 for this and origins, its fast and is good enough (at least for me)
Computer used: As always for compressions im using a 4 Cores 3.9GHz (up to 4.3GHz on Boost) + 8GB Ram + SSD
Ripped files: Only foreign languages, original size is with only spanish files but there is not much difference if you keep only english or other language.
Info:
Original Size: 46.5 GB
Compressed Size: 23.4 GB
Compress Time: 15 hours (54066.10 sec)
Decompress Time: 1 hour & 10 minutes (maybe less, was doing more things
Extra Info:
Forge Files Original: 41.5 GB (After AFR 78.7 GB)
Forge Files Compressed: 19.3 GB
Other Files Original: 4.96 GB
Other Files Compressed: 4.14 GB
Needed Diskspace: At least 200 GB free space
Final note: Using Binkpack is not worth but i used it to keep all AC Games on the same method, you will only gain 6-7MB. This game has only 6 little bk2 video files. On other hand it has over 600mb on .webm videos and i have no idea if its possible to compress them in any way. If someone has some idea for this .webm files it would be nice if you can share the info.
And sorry for the delay but i was kicking some asses on Odyssey, hell finally we have a fem character, just find fem asses better to look at when spending time on games xDDD.

Yeah, im using myself now d128 and mc1023 (on little games d64 and mc1023 because the gain is not much). Have tried in the past bigger dictionary sizes but the gain was not worth (much more time consuming). On lzma2 in other hand (thats what i used before i got into inno setup and ultraarc) the dictionary size was very important but it tooks a lot of time too. I think lolz is overall better compressor, maybe a little bit slower than lzma on compress times but on install times its nice and have almost better ratio.

Hi KaktoR, im wondering what "m0" is to try it myself again with those media files. Thanks for the lzma results on this game. This game has fast compression times even on lolz. Just a fun fact: Looking at my compressed ac library, unity is the biggest game hahaha (and its the smallest of the last 4 games).
m0 is zero compression (storing).
However, you could re-encode the webm files to lower resolution or less frames or details for example.

Ahhh ok, many many thanks. Was wondering about that. I dont like lower resolution on videos, for me its better to have them on original and i think that lowering can get those 600mb to maybe 400mb, so its not worth. Was wondering if this was just the same as binkpack where you can gain some extra mb without much time consuming or losing quality.
Thanks for the reply KaktoR !!!

How unpack second method for lolz

Strange, it should go well, im using this same method but without the "mt6" and it installs fine with the lolz included on the "Asis Installer" by KaktoR. Also im using the lolz version on Ultraarc 2900 R5 for packing. The installer includes cls-lolz.dll,cls-lolz_x64.exe & cls-lolz_x86.exe.
You could try with the same lolz version on Asis, see if that helps. I also saw same problems on other compressors that if you have different versions on packing and unpacking it doesnt work every time. So i keep my ultraarc with same version tools as the installer/unpacker to be sure. Had this on xtool last time and solved it by using same versions.

Hi, this one is not on the list. I made this with two methods (with and without xtool zlib). The gain with xtool is not worth, it has not much zlib...
Tools used: Ultraarc 2900 R5, Srep v3.9.2, Lolz, Xtool 0.9 (zlib)
Computer: As always, 4 cores at 3.9GHz (up to 4.3 on boost), 8GB Ram + SSD
Ripped Files: Only languages, keeping only 1 Language (spanish in my case)
Title: Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition v1.16.0 (GOG with all DLCs)
Method 1:
Method: binkpack on .bik/.bk2 files, rest of files srep+lolz
Original Size: 25.1 GB
Compressed Size: 13.2 GB
Compress Time: 6 Hours
Install Time: 12 minutes
Method 2:
Method: binkpack on .bik/.bk2 files, rest of files xzlib+srep+lolz
Original Size: 25.1 GB
Compressed Size: 12.9 GB
Compress Time: 6 Hours 20 minutes
Install Time: 13-14 minutes
Final note: I did tried some more things but could not get this lower, using higher dictionaries like d256, d512, etc... on lolz should give you more gain but it takes double time on compression and probably you wont get more than 100-200mb (not worth to me). There are also some repeated bik files, i didnt delete them because i dont know if it works and im too busy to test them now. As always CRC checked and all is fine !!!

I will post on the next days all Final Fantasy games with almost same method (some little changes). I have done already the biggest one (XV) but im testing it ingame because i removed duplicated videos and im not sure if its working good. So in meantime here are the FF series in order.
Tools used: Xtools 0.9, SREP 3.9.2, Lolz & Ultraarc 2900 R5
Computer: 4 Cores at 3.9GHz (up to 4.3 on boost) + 8GB Ram + SSD
Ripped Files: Only changed DirectX with the websetup installer, game is still multilanguage
Method: xZLib+srep:m3f+lolz (lolz with d128, mcc 1023)
Original Size: 644 MB
Compressed Size: 349 MB
Packing time: 10 minutes or less
Install time: 1-2 minutes
Using ztool is giving same size then xtool (tested them on both). Tomorrow i will post IV, V & VI

Finally i finished with this series, here are the last 3 games. The biggest one with two methods (Ztool and Xtool). The ztool version was created 2 weeks ago but was not posted because of testing it ingame.
Tools used: Ultraarc 2900 R5, Srep 3.9.2, Binkpack, Lolz, Xtool 0.9 & Ztool
Computer: 4 cores 3.9Ghz (4.3 boost) + 8GB Ram + SSD
All games are from Steam (Steam Editions) with all DLCs
1st step before compression: I removed all duplicated videos and foreign voice files. At first, for removing the duplicated videos you can follow my easy steps:
1. Enter in /datas/movies/, once there enter the first folder, look if there is a "us" folder.
2. Select all files on the "us" folder, right click and cut the files, go one step back to the "jp" folder and paste them there (overwrite the files)
3. After overwriting the files they remain selected, so now cut them again and move them again to the "us" folder (this will delete the files without looking for names).
4. Do the same on all other movie folders. Cutting and pasting was faster for me then open up the two folders and looking for same name archieves.
2nd step before compression (Optional):
This one will give you around 600MB less in space by removing voice files
1. Go to the /Datas/sound/resources/Voice folder.
2. Remove all foreign folders (fr,de,it,etc...) and leave only us & jp folders untouched (this is for english)
Final Fantasy XV - Windows Edition (Build 1138403) "Method 1 with Ztool":
Original Size: 82,6 GB
After 1st Step: 77,2 GB
Compressed Size: 46,6 GB
Compress Time: 26-27 hours
Install Time: 1 hour 13 minutes
Notes: Compression time is not exact, it took me 3-4 hours to start
the compression, so it should be around 23-24 hours
Method: pzlib+srep+lolz on .earc files
binkpack on .bk2/.bik files
srep+lolz on rest of files
Final Fantasy XV - Windows Edition (Build 1138403) "Method 2 with Xtool":
Original Size: 82,6 GB
After 1st Step: 77,2 GB
Compressed Size: 46,5 GB
Compress Time: 22-23 hours
Install Time: 1 hour 7-8 minutes
Notes: Compression time is not exact, it took me 3-4 hours to start
the compression, so it should be around 20 hours
Method: xZLib+srep+lolz on .earc files
binkpack on .bk2/.bik files
srep+lolz on rest of files

WARNING about World of Final Fantasy (Thanks KaktoR !!! ): Just in case you have these files:
\resource\finalizedCommon\mithril\effect\csv\mo000 _テンプレ_4足(小)_eft.csh
\resource\finalizedCommon\mithril\effect\csv\mo000 _テンプレ_4足(大)_eft.csh
\resource\finalizedCommon\mithril\effect\csv\mo000 _テンプレ_2足(大)_eft.csh
Seems that ultraarc gives an error with those files, on my version i dont have these files but if you have them just take them out of the folder before compressing. A solution if you use inno setup is to add them to the setup.exe, they are small so it shouldn´t be a problem. Just add a entry for every file in your inno script under the files section, it should look like this example:
Source: "C:\blablabla\mo000 _テンプレ_4足(小)_eft.csh"; DestDir: "{app}\resource\finalizedCommon\mithril\effect\csv\"; Flags: ignoreversion
Just edit the correct path of the source and do it for all 3 files.
With this 3 games i finished with this series. Now i will add some games this week that are not on the list like Quantum Break, Hitman, etc.... Maybe next week i will start with another serie (Resident evil is the first coming to my mind because its not complete on the index hehehe).

Not for me, just installed again the game and passed the crc check (sfv was made from the original installer). Maybe something to do with game versions?
Edit: Just looked over the original folder, have installed the original game and i dont have any files with this names. This must be something to do with game version, i played the game some months ago and finalized it as i did with every FF game (except FFXV). Looking over on the Win64 folder, even on that the first mo file begins with 001, there are no 000 files for me. I will add a note just in case to the post. Thanks KaktoR !!!
Edit2: Added a little solution for inno users for this but im suspecting that these files are not even required, i dont have them and completed the game haha. Strange things....

compressing AC O with afr:a2+srep:m2f:a4+lolz:d64
Forge files with afr:a2 64.3gb to 134gb > srep m2f:a4 134gb to 84gb > lolz:d64 27g...
*ram for decompression srep 5762mb...
also test with srep:m3f:a2 you get 25.8gb but ram for decompression srep 11333mb...
*afr seems to hammer the cpu i'm using I7 8700K with NH-D15 4.7GHZ at 1.26v
and getting temp like prime95...
installing time took 65 min...
Doofoo24, 27gb only the forge files? Can you post total size of the game to see the difference with lolz d64 and total install time? I got it full at 28,9 but with lolz d128 and mcc 1023.Zaza4Ever got it around the same but with heavier lolz setting, just curious what happens with d64, i think its faster. I searched my log files but dont have the data for origins right now, was made some weeks ago... Thanks !!!!

Posting this game with 2 methods, with and without 4k videos. For testing i only used the without 4k version, it doesnt have much difference in install and compression time, also size is about 3.35gb more with 4k.
Title: Quantum Break
Version: Steam Edition v1.0.126.0307
PC: 4 Cores 3.9GHz (up to 4.3GHz) + 8GB Ram + SSD
Ripped Files: Leaved English only (removed de,sp,it,etc... on data folder)
On the 2k version i removed all videos with _4k.bk2 extension
Original Size: 68.9 GB
Compressed 2K: 25,7 GB (Ripped 4k bink videos & languages)
Compressed 4K: 29,1 GB (Only ripped languages)
Method: Binkpack on .bk2 files
srep:m3f+lolz:d128:mc1023 on rest of files
Compress Time: 10 hours 30 minutes (38396.89 sec)
Install Time: 21 minutes
CRC Checked: Yes
Note:
Its safe to use this game without 4k videos if you dont play at 4k resolutions,
i have ripped them already when i made my full playthrough
From now on i will post my following games this way, should be easier to read...
Next game: Hitman 2016 !!!

K4miKaZe well the rest of the files (bk -pck-...) around 4gb with srep m5f:a2+lolz:d64 i get 3.4gb
if you use srep:m3f:a2 you will get 29.4gb...
if you use srep:m2f:a4 you will get 30.5gb...
the main difference between srep:m2 and m3 it save ram in decompression and if you limit srep to 2gb it less temp files it create during installation...
***better to wait for razor to update xtool for most cpu afr 100% well make the cpu fan like jet engine...
Nice, i think actually that with your m3f settings and using binkpack you get this to 29,1 or something. As i thought, there is not much difference in using d64 or d128 on lolz (only 200-300mb or maybe less).
About the heating problems, Intel chips without delidd are very hot itself due to the cheap thermal paste intel adds to them (hope they go back to the 2600/2700k times). The cooler is very good and should match similar results than watercoolers (at least aio coolers), i had one of this before i switched to water cooler. On compression its rare that it goes above the 42-45º Celsius (have no idea how much fahrenheit that is xD).
Again, thank you very much doofoo24 for posting this results !!!

use m2f:a4 with afr:a2:lolz:d64m on forge file you will lose 200mb but much fast install time 17 min...
ram with m3f if i remember around 16gb for srep alone but with m2f only 6.5gb...
alot less temp files i found that with game like mad max/ gta v using m2f better...
What happened to Syndicate was crazy, the compression times were fast as hell compared to unity but installation times were not good. Even on Odyssey or Origins 1.51 they are a bit slow. Cores are also important, all this times and tests are on a 4 cores pc, i tested Final Fantasy XV on my other pc, it has 8 cores and install times were faster. (on my notebook with 2 cores over 3 hours xD). But i will take a look into this, 200mb for half time installation is worth, compressions times didnt matter to me, i leave it on over day/night and use my other pc but installations times are what im searching for (without loosing much ratio).
Thanks again !!!

@K4miKaZe @Simorq

If i have understand it right, what @Simorq means is that the second method posted by @darkwolves is wrong (the method with lolz and who has a size of 3.58gb). The last code was Simorqs test to show that he got it much higher in size using even higher lolz settings.
But better Simorq clarifies this, my english is not good at all and sometimes i can understand things in wrong way.
Edit: @JustFun i send you a private message about one of my games with the link , i think you have missed that post.

Here are the first two Resident Evil games that are not on the list, they are full without anything ripped. Read notes if you wish to get them lower in sizes.
Title: Resident Evil 0: HD Remaster
Version: v1.0 (includes all costume packs dlcs)
PC: 4 Cores 3.9GHz (up to 4.3GHz) + 8GB Ram + SSD
Ripped Files: Nothing (Read Note to get it up to 1.03GB lower)
Original Size: 11.6 GB
Compressed Size: 5.64 GB
Method: xZLib+srep:m3f+lolz:d128:mc1023 (Xtool 0.9)
Compress Time: 3 hours 27 minutes (12464.60 sec)
Install Time: 6 minutes
CRC Checked: Yes
Note:
The movies on this game comes duplicated in 720p and 1080p, if you want
to make the total size smaller you have a lot of options here.
1. You can only use the 720p movies located in /nativePC/movie folder
2. Or you can use only the 1080p movies located in /nativePC/movie/pc
3. If you are unsure if you want to play in 1080p or 720p but want to use
only the 720p videos you can just copy and replace the 1080p with the 720p.
This is also great for creating separated bin files with only movies and
installing them as components. Just make a backup and play around.
Title: Resident Evil: HD Remaster
Version: v1.0
PC: 4 Cores 3.9GHz (up to 4.3GHz) + 8GB Ram + SSD
Ripped Files: Nothing (Read Note to get it up to 5.32GB lower)
Original Size: 17.6 GB
Compressed Size: 9.89 GB
Method: xZLib+srep:m3f+lolz:d128:mc1023 (Xtool 0.9)
Compress Time: 5 hours 34 minutes (20087.09 sec)
Install Time: 9 minutes
CRC Checked: Yes
Note:
Movies on this game are duplicated too as in Resident Evil 0, but on this game
they come in 3 different variations. Read the notes on Resident Evil 0 above
to get a better idea.
/nativePC/movie/00 contains 1080p movies with 20k bitrate (3.73 GB)
/nativePC/movie/01 contains 1080p movies with 8k bitrate (1.59 GB)
/nativePC/movie/02 contains 720p movies with 6k bitrate (785 MB)
As in Resident Evil 0 you have many choices here. The best option i think
is to keep only the 720p videos and copy them to the 00 and 01 folder
so you would not have problems playing at any resolution and safe a lot
of space.
Resident Evil 2&3 coming in a few days, my original Res2 & Res3 games are German versions (bought them 20 years ago when i lived there). The main reason why i dont want to use those versions is because in Germany they are censored, that means without some cutscenes, green blood and much more things due to the German censorship. So i will get first the good versions of those games, this will take me some time. Thinking about that, what makes green blood less in violence than red blood? :D

you are right it does not but..... i have warned against people picking my repacks apart or i would remove them all...so.....
I don´t know what happened in the past but i dont think that Simorq told that with bad intentions. Sometimes we get things wrong due to our basic english knowledge, we can even offend without intention (at least in my case). What im not finding nice is the removing of the posts giving JustFun now a lot of work to clean up the index.

I can still see all your posts, I have read through a lot of them, I can see you have helped a lot of people and I can also see that a lot of people have helped you.
I have quoted a few of your posts to highlite a few things you have previously said on the forum .....
oh it won't you can be honest and not be disrespectful at the same time
and people should be mindful about what they say about others
you never know that could be the only person around at the time that can help you..
with problems you may be having with tools
and they likley won't if they do not like you
i am aways calm nothing i have said was said with malcontent
just being honest is all
What you see as 'critics' and 'criticism' is people being honest.
wow... looking at all the games and people always wondering....
this should have been done alot sooner this is going to be helpful to so many people
^ and now you have removed that help.
its cool there is no reason for anything to escalate into a war we are all here for the same reasons
^ this is very important to remember and to heed your own advice. ;)
really brings me back that one was from my beginning repack days when i didn't know any better lol
changes made to need for speed rivals
http://fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=469537&postcount=364
it was brought to my attention something was not right about the game repack
level i investigated and discoverd it was an early crappy incomplete 3dm version
have repacked the full version of the game game different ratio on it now can you please change it to the new info...
^if people didnt 'criticise' your work then you would not have learnt new methods and learnt simpler better ways of doing things.
Dont take things to heart, people are not here to disrespect your work, they are here to learn, as you yourself said 'we are all here for the same reason'. ;)
'JustFun' has put a lot of time and effort into the Index and I'm sure he is very proud of his work and would be disappointed to now see some of it has been a waste of time, just like everyone who puts a lot of time and effort into creating the 'Best Compression Methods' ;)
Please rethink the deletion of your posts and think about allowing me to 'restore' them all, I can do that quite easily. ;)

At first, thanks for letting Grumpy restore the posts.
Different sizes could be so many things, maybe you have ripped some files? Also from my little experience, lolz should not give so hugh differences and not always higher means better (got some games on lolz with some mb less on low settings then on higher settings, strange...). I think the best thing is to know first how much GB the game has after installing, this way you know if your total game size matches Simorqs one, if not it could be dlcs, language files, etc..
I dont think that nobody here was saying that you were dishonest, simorq only said that it was wrong because he tested it too, i think he used your method and said that something was wrong, sometimes we can have even a typing error (3 is next to 4 on the keyboard). I dont have any of the Devil May Cry games, so i cant look to it too, never liked those games hehehe.
Do you actually check for crc on compressions? Sometimes it can happen that ultraarc doesnt include all files without giving error. I usually do a sfv file from the original install and check it on the repack (it tells if there are bad or missing files).
;)

no i didnt rip anything i've always admitted to ripping recoding etc and i don't use ultraarc
what i use is a compressor based off one panker made
i redid the entire compressor with my own settings
and the tools i use i have gatherd overtime
as far as the crc no never check
apon installing the game is 24 gigs ran a test play off my last save file
nothing appeared out of place

No idea, with a crc file it should be easy to see if there is something missing. I recommend to do it on every pack because even if the game starts and is playable it can have missing files or bad files. Maybe different game versions or something (not always us and eu versions are exactly the same). But if you two say that your original size are 27.0gb then its strange like hell but it can be that the data on this 27gb is slightly different (maybe you dont have same amount of vids but have other files like dlc stuff or something). Thats why sfv files are so useful too. And game updates can make hugh differences too, for example on one of my last games, hitman, i had it previously on 22,8gb but have redone it after the 1.14.2 patch (around 300mb more in size). Doing it with same method gave me 22,6 (even with the game having bigger size).
Edit: Grumpy, thank you very much for taking your time and restoring them !!!

I have seen you write 'your English is not good' ... I think your English is great for a Spanish speaking person but I hope you don't mind if I correct 2 words I have seen you and others either use wrong or misspelled .... this is only to help your English ....
Hugh should be 'Huge'
I have also seen the word 'spelled' used by a few people here, even though it is not actually wrong to use 'spelled' you can also use 'spelt' for past tense of 'spell'.
Another word I see here a lot is 'learned', again it is not wrong but 'learnt' is also used as the past tense of 'learn'.
I guess it depends on if you are using US English or UK English but both are technically correct. In Australia we are mostly taught UK English in schools. (for the record I finished school far to many years ago to mention but I believe they now allow both the UK and US spelling here in Australian schools, like 'colour' and 'color', 'honour' and 'honor' etc.)

Thanks, i know its not bad at all. I always liked english as a language and almost "learnt" it by myself. On school only for 2 years but it was very basic and it was 20 years ago (hell, im old haha). You are right, here in Spain many people are bad in english, many dont even speak it because its not a priority on the schools. I was lucky because i was born in Germany and was there many years, did the school there and english was required. Also hanging out in english forums, chats, have friends in us and uk should help much too.
Maybe you can be my new personal english teacher ? :p

Bufff, Dishonored 2 is the only game i had so many issues, its a real pain. Tried xtool,ztool,pzlibv3 and nothing works. Tried some old dlls that razor published and it inflates well with them but on installation i got every time crc missmatch (unpacking didnt work as well). Now im trying it with reflate, already done around 10gb on test files and checked crc. Seems to work for that game but its slow, slow like a turtle (or even slower haha). For 500mb test (got that file into 50mb) it tooks over 10 minutes. So total time should be around 14-15 hours. If it works i will publish it later, probably this night or tomorrow.
I had a simmilar issue with FF Type-0 HD back in the days. Whenever I used xtool/ztool on all the *.pac files, unpacking gave me crc error on "pack4.pac". I had to exclude this file from all others and compress the file alone with zlib, then it worked well. Really strange.

Yeah, had some of these problems too. But solved it by trying different xtool/ztool versions but with this game its impossible. What is strange is that an old tool like reflate can handle it without problem, or at least at the 10gb test files i used, wish it would be at least 50% faster. The ratio looks very good and thats the main reason i continue with this or the game goes directly to Recycle (that will have a better ratio :D).
As for Type-0 HD you can use xtool 0.9 without any problems on all files (x64)

Boh .. I do not understand use a method or a masked method, what means "all the other files = Lolz" if the first method already uses as a last lolz compressor.

Also srep+lolz on rest of files would probably work better, just as a tip. Maybe the problems while compressing are due to the srep version. Im using 3.9.2 because i had some little issues in the past with 3.9.3 and someone told me that infact this version has some issues (cant remember who hehe). Try it and look if it works great without problems.
Dishonored 2 step 1 completed (all inflated files done, sorted out files with errors ). Now im working on the rest of files, hell that was a lot of work. When i wake up i will post the results and full methods.

I think you have answered your own question "whatever audio format to lossy audio format...
Any recompression of media files can be applied to this, but the question is, can you hear the difference? On most audio equipments if you have done a good conversion you will not hear the difference or at least you will hear a little bit, it depends on the source too. On good equipments maybe its more audible. There are another factors, if the source is mono,stereo,5.1,etc... I think the best thing is to try it yourself and hear if you notice any differences.

If there is a possibility to make something with this file, the game can get
to the 20-21gb total size. I tried it but nothing worked.
As said, im too tired of this game to make more tests, maybe next week i will try some more things and come up with a better method but for now i will not see this game for some days hahaha.
why don't you use ztool or xtool

Have you read the post? It didnt work. Managed to compress it with xtool but crc problems on unpacking. Maybe finding correct .dll files would do the trick but tried with many different versions...

Ok, i will try it later on the smallest file. Tried ztool yesterday too and yes, its slow but i waited. After trying to install i got crc problem. Lets see if it works with c256m.
Edit: And i thought that reflate was slow like a turtle, 20 minutes ago i started with a 500mb file, still on the first step. But hey, if it works, time doesnt matter (at least i hope it wouldnt take a week xDDD)
Edit 2: After 35 minutes its done, 571mb-->36mb with reflate 571--> 47mb. Tested it now without crc issues. I will try it now with one of the files that didnt worked with reflate but this looks good. Many many thanks DiCaPrIo !!! The chunksize value didnt even come to my mind while i was testing it. If this works maybe i can try out xtool with the newest zlibwapi.dll, this dll was ultra fast but got the same problem then ztool yesterday. At least its a good point to start.
I agree with you. I know that Srep v3.92 compresses better and is more reliable but in this specific case (*cpk files), if I use srep v3.92 I have CRC errors while with a v3.93 I do not find any problem.
Boh .. I do not understand use a method or a masked method, what means "all the other files = Lolz" if the first method already uses as a last lolz compressor.
In my short experience I noticed that in some cases if I use Srep I do not always have a good earning. Again in this specific case if I use only Lolz I have a gain of about 0.5GB total that I lose with a compression Srep+Lolz, maintaining a good decompression speed.
Is this a questionable choice? It is probable, however, this way, I got a smaller size than many other repack in circulation.

Good to know that Srep 3.9.2 doesnt work with this specific game files, at least for me its a usefull information. Maybe you can add a little note to it on your post if someone else tries to compress that game.
Thanks NexusIV !!!

That was not the concept I wanted to emphasize, I do not understand in your post if you used a single method or a mask. Personally I consider it useless or ineffective to use a masked method, if in the different concatenated masks we use the same final compressor, the result will be identical, and the compression time is the same, decompression same thing.
I'll give you an example, a masked method like this:
(-mPippo/$deflate=Topolino+Pippo) it's the same thing to use this (-mTopolino+Pippo)
Structurally a compression mask I would use it like this:
(-mPaperino/$deflate=Topolino+Pippo) or (-mPippo/$deflate=Topolino+Paperino).
Now in all this I do not mean that you use a wrong method, or that you will have errors in compression or decompression, but underline how to best use the masks in FA.
Thank you for your support and test on the games, and say hello to me Mars.

Hi, here is a new method for this game, this time with better installation time and better ratio (it fits perfect in a bd25 disc). My idea was to not touch this game again in 1-2 weeks but DiCaPrIo gave me an idea yesterday to make it work with ztool.
Big Thanks DiCaPrIo, the c256m setting worked !!!

Mask Method: no compression on *.pck files
binkpack on *.bk2 files

Compress Time: 16 hours 15 minutes (58538.66 sec)
Install Time: 13 minutes
CRC Checked: Yes
Note:
Important to set up c256m on ztool or it will not work, the compression time is
slow because it takes over 9 hours only with ztool.
Also removing the credits.bik will give you 700mb better output if you wish.
I did another little test with xtool setting up same chunksize and using latest zlib version from official page. Seems the ratio is a little bit better but is also much more faster. Have to try it with the full game, maybe in 1 week or 2.
@JustFun, if you wish you can delete my previous method or leave it but this is almost better except for the compression time.

Hey can you unpack it on hdd and tell me time
Sure, i will move the installer later on a HDD (7200rpm) and will test it for you ;)
Should be ready in 4-5 hours (im compressing a game right now)
Edit:
@DiCaPrIo from HDD to HDD it tooks 17 minutes and 20-30 seconds. 4-5 minutes for binkpack, and 12-13 minutes for the rest of the data. Thats something like 25% slower then SSD but with so many data its normal. On a 5200/5400 rpm disk it should be probably slower.

@everyone When you post compression method, I would be very very thankful if you could write the game version too, because some people might be confused when looking at INDEX, obviously v1.0 will be smaller in size than for example v1.50, but some users dont know that and we will probably have some posts saying that the given compression size is not accurate and that it is bigger.
BTW, Wanna say thank you to everyone that it is contributing to this thread, its much appreciated!

I think that something is wrong with your srep 3.9.2. On the last game you posted i couldnt test it myself because i dont have the game. But i have Killer Instinct and there is no problem with srep. Maybe you are using wrong cls for installing? On the script i use there are 2 srep versions, i almost use the older one because i had 0 errors but on some games (in special with forge files) if i use the newer one i get crc error. My cls-srep.dll for decompression has 86kb, (the new one is 17kb and have lot of problems with it).

The error occurs during compression and not during decompression. I tried with different options but I solved it only using the Srep v3.93.
Mine are just considerations and reports. Use them as a starting point for new tests in your repack.

Binkpack doesnt work with this .bk2 files. You have to use first Rad
Video Tools and convert all .bk2 files to .bik files. I converted them
by using a 80% compression rate (size is a bit smaller). After you
convert all .bk2 files to .bik, delete the original files and rename all
.bik files into .bk2. Works perfect and binkpack can be used after.
If you dont want to use it then dont use binkpack, size should be
around 300-400mb bigger.

@Simorq
did you compress mp4 with srep and when decompress you convert mp4 back to wmv ?
*Devil May Cry HD Collection
Yes, with PPX2 it takes about 5 minutes to convert MP4 to WMV.
did you test the game ?
i tried your method on Nioh Complete Edition there is 3.28gb of wmv compressed to 1.46gb after convert wmv to mp4...
but when i try to convert back mp4 to wmv seem not to work for me using PPX2 so i am using
dir/b/s *.mp4 >mkvlist.txt
for /F "delims=;" %%F in (mkvlist.txt) do ffmpeg.exe -y -i "%%F" -qscale:v 0 -vcodec wmv2 -b:a 256k "%%~dF%%~pF%%~nF.wmv"
del mkvlist.txt

1: Convert Multi MP4 > WMV
2: DEL ALL MP4 Files
3: Remove *.WMV Extension
4: REN *.MP4>*.WMV

GTA V no temp file 17min installtion
pzlib:m3:max:c128m:t100p+srep:m2f:a2:lolz:d32 without audio file size 16.8gb.
audio file 15.4gb
*memory usage decompression with srep:m3f you will need 10gb for srep with m2f 3800mb...
you well lose 100mb to 500mb depend on the game did quick test on games that need alot of ram for decompression for srep alone like mad max/the evil within...
***you can use srep(32bit) from ProFrager it limit srep to 2gb only , in gta v total memory in decompression around 2.5gb (with pzlib+srep+lolz) with 2gb extra temp file only...
just got the game and tried this exact method excellent results

This was a request for the latest GTA V version (including the big After Hours dlc). I was a bit surprised here, ztool performs slightly better then xtool with almost same settings. not worth it to use srep:m3f for large game just to get around 500mb better ratio than srep:m2f specially if you limit srep during decompression to 2gb a lot of temp file will be created with m3f compare to m2f, at least in my experience :)
@K4miKaZe what the settings for srep and lolz when you install the game...
doofoo24, settings are default except for the thread usage on lolz. Reduced it to 80%, doesnt make much difference in time (at least on some AC games). Thats my default settings on all games for the installer. Srep version and lolz version for decompression is the used on the ASIS Script.
Also, m2f should be faster on installation as you say. The ratio you loose with srep can be fixed a bit more with higher lolz settings but on my case if i go a little bit above on lolz settings it takes a lot more time on compression.Thats not a problem on small games but with huge game size it can be a nightmare. What you can do with srep m3f is a double installer for more and less ram, times should be 20-30% faster on installation. Didnt checked it with gta but with hitman i got it 6 minutes lower on installation.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
i am talking when you limit srep to 2gb
srep m2f more like 200% faster on normal hdd not ssd...:p
No idea, i always use SSD as you can see on all my posts. I posted HDD because it was a request made by an user of this forum so i really have no idea the impact m2f have on a HDD. The only thing i can tell you is that the difference between SSD and HDD should be around 25% for srep and the difference on SSD using 64bit or 32bit srep are something like 30% on speed (maybe because ssd is already fast enough). Thats on my case but you cant go exact with this things. CPU cores, ghz, etc... all matters. Even HDDs can have different speeds (rpm, if its a raid build or not,etc...).
K4miKaZe
28-10-2018, 03:51
you not getting the idea :D
if you have enough ram for decompression srep:m2f and m3f are the same speed, i am talking when you limit srep to 2gb (i need to simplefiy more haha)...
[Srep]
Memory=2048m
TempPath=app
tha one with m3f will create more temp file on hdd/ssd (mean more time to decompress), gta v with m3f need 11gb compare to m2f need 3.8gb, temp file alone for srep-zlib double
Hahaha, the funny thing is that i already answered to your question on my first reply "settings by default" and default settings are "50%-512m" in this case "it uses 2,5gb". Times are around 30 minutes with uncapped installer on SSD and it needs more then 11gb, 13,5gb on this version.
K4miKaZe
28-10-2018, 04:07
oh no how stupid of me :D
My english is not good at all too, so maybe my fault too, dont worry haha. But i got your point from the start, i know that its faster if you have the ram. Thats because i say to create two installers (thats what i make). But my test main installer is always the limited one and for games like hitman or gta i create later a "more ram" installer with x64 version. But its never 200% faster for me and thats maybe where the drive/disk speed seems to be important (due to the temp files). ;)
Edit: The times are always with the 32bit version, i mean that it can go to the 30 minutes using the x64 version. (not all my pcs have 16gb of ram, and this one i just added two new sticks some days ago).

Binkpack doesn't work with this game, all bk2 need to be recoded first with

After converting all .bk2 files to .bik files, delete the original files and
rename the created .bik files to .bk2. Now binkpack is safe to use.

To compress this game at this size you need to use first a modding tool on it. The game works fine with the DLCs unpacked, so dont worry about repacking the SFAR files. The advantages on this is that you get about 5-6GB better ratio on compression and also the game is mod ready without having to unpack the DLCs later. The disadvantage on this is that the install size for the game is about 5GB more (not much really).
Preparation:
1. Download and install ME3Explorer from nexusmods (Google it)
2. Open ME3Explorer and on the 1st Step set up the path to your ME3
3. On the 2nd step click on "Unpack DLCs", this can take up to 1 hour
4. Now you can close ME3Explorer and go to your DLC folder.
5. Delete all foreign languages, be carefull, best thing is to search for
"_DEU." to remove all German files, "_FRA." for French and so on. INT is English
6. Now you can proceed to the compression method

wolfpaw-2.bin.001
wolfpaw-3.bin.001

compressed size: 5.12 gb
*note: the reason i use wolfpaw-#. is because i wanted my repack filenames to be unique, plus my selfrun and founded repacker name title is 'Wolfpaw Gaming Studios Repacks'. I even made a splash for it ^^ some of the other repackers who i will not list names of due to forum rules use unique naming schemes also. just wanted to be original and different :D
also, following a recommendation from another forum user, I split my game repack temp files into several folders and place the files there, since certain file types compress better than others, then encode each folder with diskspan seperately, then rename the files according. for example, i put the agarest generations of war WMV movies in a folder by itself with the folder structure retained. eg, c:\games\agarest generations of war 2\s16\ s16 being the folder the videos are stored in, then compress the movies seperate from the other file types. I then change the name of the output file for that video folder to wolfpaw-1.bin.001. then rename the files generated from the folder with the compressed .bra files in it to wolfpaw-2.bin.001 and wolfpaw-3.bin.001 respectively.*
PSA: I use 3 different types of compression methods because i have my game repack temp files split up into several folders to both cut down on compression time and also to single out files in the install that are not compressed well by some of the methods yet compress well with others. for instance, i use lzma on the movie files and i use msc+lolz on the .bra files since they contain raw data and DDS textures. i should have specifed in my post that i have multiple diskpan batch commands save for each folder or 'D' <for disk> i am compressing :)
also, K4mikaZe, i fixed my post. i had a few typos in my compression methods. the post is fixed now ^^
** also, warning for all of you who use diskspan's batch script and or UA 2.9.0.0 Final: msc or media streams compressor, has a rare but random glitch when compressing/deinterleaving mp3 and some dds files, especially if they're in a for the most part non-accessible packed container, such as agarest's .bra files - though you can extract Agarest GoW 1 .bra files with quickbms, though some games wont extract with it. - the glitch is that when installing a game you made with CIU, whether you're unpacking the files made with diskspan or UA, some files will cause the installer to halt. no errors, no crashing, it will just stop installing but will not give any indication anythings wrong. i've had this happen with 2 games so far, syberia 1 and agarest generations of war 2. syberia 1 had 1 mp3 that glitched up with MSC and the installer just stopped processing and 'hung' on that one particular file, mphone3.mp3. Agarest GoW 2 halted on s19.bra which was a 73 mb file and the installer stopped processing and hung on that one file. i have only encountered this error with these 2 games so far, and only with this compressor. for GoW 2, what i did was i moved the s19.bra file into a seperate folder to be repacked as msc did not have any issues with the other files for some weird reason. then on the last folder i didnt use MSC. will report back when compression finishes and i will report if it froze or not. **
*** Post Edit
Confirmed. it was the MSC compressor. I tried moving the s19.bra file and a few others to a seperate folder then recompressed it without using MSC and the install went flawlessly. so watch out for certain files/file types. Theres no way to tell if a file will or will not be compatible with MSC, its just trial and error. ***

**Note: if you all are wondering why the bin files are so different in size, i dont compress the entire game folder all at once like some of the other users on this forum do. I split up the game into several folders, marked D1/D2/D3/etc and compress the files seperately. so like if the game has bik videos, instead of compressing the game folder with one specific compression algorithm, i move the bik files to, say, a folder named D1 if they are in the main folder of the game install and then use bpk+srep on the bik movies, then move the other data files to seperate folders, and compress them with the appropriate methods. that being said, i do maintain the folder structure that the original install is in, so for example if the installed game had a folder named 'movies' eg c:\games\gamename\movies, then i would move the temporary files i am repacking to a folder in my compressor, eg c:\repacks\gamename\D1\movies\ then put the bik files in there so that when you install the game it will move the bik files from the 'movies' folder in my repack temporary folder herein contained in the first bin.001 file to c:\yourfolder\gamename\movies\ retaining the original game install folder structure. hope this helps anyone who wants to shorten the compression time.
Using the method of splitting the game files into several folders, I was able to compress a 5 gb game into 3.78 gb in about 30 minutes instead of an hour or more. ask me if you need further clarification on my compression methods.**

You can unpack them with a archive manager and pack them back afterwards (use near method as possible, xdelta files will be very small).
