my early repack days before i properly learned to rip....

i ran into two problems number 1 some files were missing and number 2 i had some of the folders in the wrong place i did that alot in my early days...
so i put them in the right place and verified my cache and immediately repacked it

Which pzlib3 version each of you using?

I had a lot of archive corruption problems with pzlib v3.2 but not with pzlib v3.0.1.0, this could explain the different results.

First used Dunia Recompressor on .fat dat files then compressed the output with srep+lolz.
bpk on bik files.
i tried oggre +srep +lz77 on sound files but it caused error during decompression.
then used srep +lz77 on sound files.

Compressed better, lolz output was 2XMB without tweaking too much options. I'm sure lolz can get to rz result or less but i don't have the time now to test it, maybe in the future.

I am going to compress Mass effect 2 Ultimate Edition.
I am going to need only english language and i want to remove other languages that is the files marked with DEU FRA etc.
I have to keep only files marked with INT for english.
Now i know that .afc files r sound files but their r .pcc files also marked with INT DEU etc. did i have to remove them too.
Is game stable after removal of other languages.

Yes

Only make sure do not remove startup_* and/or *.tlk files. Not 100% sure, but in ME3 when they got removed for other languages you got hieroglyphics text ingame

srep+lolz on DLC's .pcc files. using uelr on them is useless as they contain type 8 streams.

exe2+delta+srep+lolz on other files.

u can also use cls uelr x64 by Edison to extract files from archive compressed with uelr, it increases extraction speed by 35% at least.

rep – deletes repetitions. it's faster unpacked than lzma and other on bad compression files.

I want to repack mass effect 3 but since its .sfar files r lzma compressed and their is no tool available.

I just wanted to do it like FG.
extact the files .sfar compress the output, the after unpacking recreate sfar.

but in order to create md5 perfect files, i wanted to use xdelta.
when i compared orginal .sfar and my recreated one, the difference is as big as the orgernal.
can someone point how to accomplish this.

After extraction r files md5 perfect.
Here, we share methods not conceil it, this thread is ment to provide info, how to achieve this size. I tried to contact hime but he didnt responded.
I tried to use dlc extractor and xdelta to make it work but after comparing (recreated .sfar )files with orginal, xdelta produces orginal size patch which is useless. if anyone know how to do this let me know.
My theory about how (i guess is his doofoo) compressed it from 24.3gb to 8gb is he extracted .Sfar files and then recreated .sFar from extracted content without useing lzma compression (hence the game size 24.3gb).
Cp has also compressed mE3 from 16.5gb to 11.5gb (compression ratio of around 70%) which is same as mine that means they have encoded videos.
My orginal game size was 24gb after removing French, Italian and German languages, it came down to 19.2 (with single int(english) language).

Someone here suggested using lzma precompressor by shelwain, it has a issue, it doesnt allow using external compressors like srep lolz on precompressed file. what it does is, it first precompresse lzma files, then uses lzma compression with high setting on precompressed files.
BTW it supports stdin stdout(someone might want to try).

I tried xtool on .pcc files but it game me error on some file during precompression. same was the case with ztool.
however precomp took 1 hour to precompress and only 13minutes to decompress.

.SFAR files used in Mass Effect 3 uses LZMA compression. Normally it is a very very stupid idea to do precompression of LZMA because you know its going to be very slow unless you have a proper way of doing it in MT. To match the data/size with originals so that you dont get large xdelta patches, you have to match the LZMA parameters,block size etc... as it was used in the originals.

And for Shelwien's tool, you are confusing plzma. He has also created a lzma recompressor with no internal compression so that you can apply further compression but its very very slow and for advanced users.

^^He is right, LZMA is slow AF, you can use lzmadump for recompressing them, but it's a tool like old reflate, and very much slow.

used xtool + srep+ lolz on zlib files.
bpk + srep on bik files.
srep+ lz77 on sound files (as always oggre failes on them)
srep+ lolz on bin + bundle files
and srep + exe +delta +lolz on rest files.
xtool improves compression around 200mb than pzlib. xtool version is v03.

All creadit goes to Razor.
Extaction time reduced by 14minutes.
FGs version took 44minutes while mine without binkpack took 28minutes, that adds only 2 minutes for bik videos.

time on compression to me does not matter to me besides i did not keep track
i was at work while it repacked and my compressor does 3 data files
it only showed the timeframe for the final file
decompression takes around 30 minutes though
previous method with lzma took around an hour and a half
to decompress

it produces best output without damaging 3rd compressor (like lzma or lolz ) input file.

В принципе я понял к чему вы клоните. Сжвть игру с распакованными данными? Чтоб установка длилась часами? Я вас умоляю пускай такими извращениями FG занимается.
Что касается настроек XTOOL -она разжимает не все файлы (почему - я не знаю, все вопросы к Razor1911)
Вопрос на засыпку - вы в курсе какое количество файлов находится внутри архивов *.dat? для винтов это просто убийство...

Bro I didnt tell u to extract, I was only curious to know that ur packed game irrespective of using xtool is 13.5gb of size.
I compared it with FG repack is because after using precompressor u must get size better than FGs.BTW I too never like to unpack game files.

That fact that FG has extracted game files is a precompression in itself so your size should not be much different than FG's size considering you have good comp settings. I have myself achieved 11 GB for Far Cry 4 using both AFR and XTool but I forgot what settings I used.

I guess u r wrong, I myself have acieved better size (around 100 to 500mb )than FGs extracted game using precompression. I have seen FGs extracted files create diff files which inturn increase game size. (dunia precompressor ) (not AFR) by edison doesnt use same technique as razors xtool or ztool hence precompression done with edisons tool is pure and ultimate however with xtool razor has also polished it hence precompression done with it is also nearly equal to ultimate precompression.

Why do you forget the compression part in all this ? I see weak lolz settings around here that are not always enough to get size like FG even with improved and "ultimate" precompression. SRep settings also affects compression in FC4.. And those diffs that you are talking about are not that large. Make sure you had all the game files as in FG repack and tell me what compressed size you got.

try using tt1 with lolz almost 3x faster compare to tt16 tested on many data the difference around 75mb to 125mb in compression ratio, is not worth it to use tt16 :)

Compressed Assassins Creed orgins from 52Gb to 31.1Gb using srep + lzma and bpk for bink files.

the repack is based on FGs 52Gb single language version.

it took 6hours to install on my pc thanks to hellish compression used by Ubisoft.

Now it takes on 1hour to install.

for 8gb gain i have to wait for 5 more hours thads is not a good tradeoff.

BTW she mentioned that on 16 thread CPU, it takes only 35minutes to install can someone please confirm.

You're able to save much more space with lolz/lzma, but it tooks forever :D

replace lzma2 with lolz and ztool with xtool (this time it worked)... result is = 19.1GB

rarely xtool do not decompress compressed data for example in nfs run compression, after xtool size is not getting bigger 16gb to 16gb but pzlib,ztool,precomp,reflate made it 30gb.

what I wrote before is only theory because I have little time to practice. but BAE in my opinion is the only one that decompresses the files. bsa just find a better injector. search the web. good luck

It took about 10 minutes to create it :) If you are familar with batch and know much, you could create it in less time.

The benefit is you don't need to install anything, but if you use it just for personal use it would be Ok (I post conversions sometimes, not repacks, so i can't force anyone to install software just for this kind of work). If you sharing repacks your way is the best way, because users only need to unpack, nothing else.

Yes it's possible that oodle has horrible unpacking time. I didn't test "standard" compression yet, but I will try it and share comparrison later.

Edit: 34.4GB < 38.4GB with lzma2. So the difference is more than 2,5GB, it's 4GB more without oodle

Hi, im compressing these days all of my AC Games and this one is not on the list so i want to share it with you.

First off, this game doesnt work with binkpack on the bk2 files (there are also bik files that are working) so here you have two options, not compressing them or use my same method.

1. Convert all bk2 files to bik with Rad Tools, on the compression tab change only the compression level % to 80, let all other settings by default. This will give you a similar output size. After that delete all bk2 files and rename the created bik files to bk2 (change their extension). Be careful to not modify the original bik files, there is no need to touch them.

2. Now you can use the following MASK method to compress the game without problem:

MASK:srep:m3f+LL2/$binkpack=BPK/$anvilpack=afr+srep:m3f+LL2

Srep is v3.9.2, LL2 is equal to: lolz:mmt1:d64:mc1023 and the afr version is 0.1.9 by edison007

Original Size: 17.1GB (One lang)
Repacked Size: 4.7GB (One lang)

Compression time: 2 Hours & Decompression/Installation time: 5-6 minutes on 4 Cores/3.9GHz + 8GB Ram + SSD and 8 minutes on Dual Core 3.2GHz + 8GB Ram + HDD

CRC tested after installation and its working fine.If you dont touch the video files the total size will be around 5GB.If you want to add all languages it will be around 6GB (not tested myself)

I thought that after adding Liberation HD all AC games were listed on the index but Brotherhood was not there too. So here it goes:

Yeah for sure, its a bit late here. I will post the full AC list tomorrow with the methods,time,etc... Origins was the first one (i always start with the heavy one like final fantasy wich i just finished now, xv to 46gb (and 20 hours, i thought i gonna die) , will post tomorrow the full method,etc...

Hi, here i will post all AC Games converted with almost same method.

Tools used: UltraArc, Srep v3.9.2, Lolz, Binkpack, UELR,AFR & Rad Video Tools (this was only for Black Flag & Unity because some video files give error when converting them with binkpack)

Method: Mask method -> bpk on .bik & .bk2 files / afr+srep+lolz on .forge files / srep+lolz on all other files
On AC Chronicles changed only AFR with UELR

Computer: 4 Cores with 3.9GHz (up to 4.3 on boost), 8GB DDR4 Ram, SSD & 12GB VRAM (This should not matter really)

Note 1: Original sizes are with only one language, sorry i already had my games with only 1 language (spanish) so i really have no idea how much the total size is with all language files.

Note 2: For Black Flag you must convert all .bk2 files into .bik files with rad tools (i only set up the conversion ratio to 80% to get an aproximate file size). After that rename the converted bik files into bk2 and replace them with the original files. For unity you have to do this only on the abstergologo.bk2 file (easy) or just remove it as its not necesarry.

Note 3: I also replaced DirectX installers with the web setup installer on all games.

Note 4: All games are on the last version and have all dlcs included (i think they are complete). Soundtracks and other Deluxe stuff non related to the game has been removed.

Thanks. I have solved this error.

I have one normal archive with masked compression (it's just ~3GB), the second archive is with diskspan. I just had to seperate the arc.groups from cls-diskspan (they will not work in same directory). arc.groups is now in a other folder and it works now without problems,

Slow precompression, fast decompression.

Will test full game when it's released in a few days. Use the same as in Origins.

Same as in Origins, Xtool:oodle won't work with big input (single files are OK). Xtool will just stop working and files will be just copied without inflating.
