I have a Clicking Drive...just want to clarify something...
Hi,
My old style PS2 has started clicking...and i just wanted to make clear what part i needed? Is it the arm or the whole laser unit? I ask this because when i play back-ups of games like Pro Evo Soccer 6 (around 2gb) It plays fine...no clicking whatsoever. But when i try a backup of Final Fantasy 12 or the latest Mortal Kombat (over 4Gb) it starts clicking...with the same good media. It reads pretty much everything apart from the big games. So do you think its a problem with the Arm? or is the Laser on its last legs...my PS2 is a V10 i think or a V9. Thanks. |

The "Clicking" noise is the laser trying to focus on the media. You need a new laser along with someone experienced with installing/adjusting it correctly.
