LIte-On drive Question (LTN-403, a regular and not CDR Drive)

Does anyone know if the LTN-403 drive (there basic 40X drive)can tell the difference between burned media and original media, so that if it is asked it will report if it contains a burned disc.

I want to get a drive which will not be vulnerable to SD2 checks for media types and the Lite-On drive comes in Silver which matches my Aluminum case.

Any help you can provide will be appreciated,

Goat Boy
