Problem with Philips drive
I'm having a problem with a new Philips PCRW804K I recently bought. The drive works fine doing normal CD burning under Adaptec Easy CD Creator, but I can't get it to work with CloneCD (which is the main reason I bought the drive!). This drive is listed on the CloneCD website as being compatible with CloneCD, and I have seen some people post on this forum saying that they have this same drive and have used it with CloneCD.
Here's the problem: it will ####t doing the copy just fine, but at 22% everything will just stop. The progress bar stops moving and the drive indicator lights stop flashing. I let it sit there for over an hour, but it doesn't ####t up again. I tried burning at slower speeds, but I get the same result (except that it stops at an earlier point than 22%). Is it possible that the drive is damaged in some subtle way? Should I try updating the firmware? If anyone has some info on this, I would really appreciate it. I'm using CloneCD v3.0.2.3 under Win95 OSR2. The firmware revision on the drive is listed as "2,1" (seems like a strange firmware version number). -- Jeffro |

Try upgrading your Firmware as you said. You should also try CloneCD 2.8.5.3 and not 3.0.0.20 as it is only the beta version.
