getting another eeprom

hey guys....i told my friend that i upgraded to a larger hdd and that i was still able to play on xbox live. so my friend went home and did the same thing, but what i forgot to mention to him is that he had to change the hdd keys to the way they were when he first went into xbox live using his original hdd, otherwise they were gonna ban his xbox. well, lets just say i didnt tell him that, now his xbox is banned with the (ur xbox has been modified) phrase. so my question is can he get another eeprom or does he have to get another xbox.

p.s. thanx quall for the password question

Well, I for one don't know too much about the new bannings, just how it is done and how to prevent it.

But, if your friend wants to get unbanned, you need the eeprom and HDD key from another xbox that will never go online (and has never, to be safe). If you replace that, it should unban you.

You should find someone who has been banned, then unbanned, before you do the mod

u know what quall...i think his best bet is to buy another xbox ..just to be on the safe side. but thats a $150 difference sense the eeproms cost around 7 bucks...well thats how much i bought mine a long ass time ago. im gonna have to break the bad news to him and im sure hes gonna like the answer i give him...oh well. the good side to this is that he will have 2 xboxs...haha.

finding the eeprom is easy .....the hard part is finding a hdd key that hasnt been banned yet. i would let him have mine but im already using it, so im guessing its gonna be difficult to obtain.
