The US and UK Key

Steps :

Disabled All CD's in SFNightmare.
Launched Deamon Tools and Mounted the Image.
Turned on RMPS Emulation.
Launched SCCT.
It askes for the CD-Key so i enter The UK one.
Hangs for a Minute and then Say Invalid CD-Key.
it didn't work for me neither

I used:

StarForce Nightmare disabling CD (only)
Deamon Tool 3.47 to mount the image provided in File Archive (The GCW Mini Image) + turned the RMPS emu. ON
launched SCCT.. it hangs on 25% for couple of minutes then it comes back with an error: "The disc key you entered does not correspond to the disc in the drive. Make sure you use the correct key."

any idea?

p.s. BTW.. many thnx to the guys who are working on creating the No-CD file.

The latest version of Starforce Nightware doesn't work with the Starforce version inside SCCT.

It seems you only have two choices as of this moment:

(1) Play with a burned DVD with correct mds info on a USB2.0 drive.
(2) Play with original.

COOP play in LAN with 1 DVD

It's so simple, it's almost sad it took me 1 week to figure out!
Only works with an original copy of the game:
1. Install the game into each computer with the original DVD
2. Update or start the game
3. Once the game is in the Solo/COOP screen, remove the DVD from the DVD-Rom and put it into the other computer's DVD-Rom
4. Start a coop game with any of the two computers and enjoy fine LAN play

Been tested an works with version 1.01 of the game

To sum it up, the safety verification is done only upon starting the game (the loading gizmo), after that, it never checks for the DVD in the drive allowing to play like you would with an XBox or a PS2. It's as simple as that!

The problem is that the Splinter Cell 3 copy always detects daemon-tools. But there is a proper solution, to stop StarForce scanning for daemon-tools! I translated it from the german, so please excuse me for mistakes .

1. Start Regedit.

2. Goto: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi" and you will see some folders with this syntax "Scsi Port X".

3. Search through the folders for an entry called this: "Driver=d347prt". This is the daemon-tools drive.

4. Now to stop the copylock from scanning for daemon-tools simply rightclick on the folder which includes the D-Tools drive and click on "Permissions" (i don't know if this is socalled in english version of winxp).

5. Now you will have to activate "Deny/Read only" at "Administrators" (i don't know if this is socalled in english version of winxp).

NOTE: You always have to repeat this steps after reboot, but it works fine for me.

What is working? Playing SCCT by loading its image to a D-Tools virtual driver after using this Registry tweak?

AFAIK, that Registry tweak is for Securom 7 protected games, not Starforce.

This guide has been mentioned so many many many times .. I alone said it 4 times..
it should be in the guides section..
Some really cool user (or mod?) here told me about the hex editor trick. It's so much easier than the constant regedit.
Whoever you are (was it Grumpy?) come forth and claim credit.. and while you're at it .. put it in the guides section.

Many thanks

I didn't do any copy, hell I even can't. Damn game restrain my right to do myself a backup copy and, with our laws, THAT's illegal. But I don't mind, as long as I can enjoy what I paid for.

Anyway, you see the common sense here.
Cheers!

This is one of those things, that people are not sure about law wise.

1. You cant technically install the same disc on 2 machines, people think you can aslong as they are in your own home, but technically no, 1 copy per machine.

2. You can however, install on a machine, remove at a later date then install on a new one. You just cant however have on both machines at once.

3. Doesnt matter what intepretation is thrown at me from here, it clearly states in any game EULA and ESD (European Software Directive) that 1 copy per machine, no but's or maybe's.

So thats why tbaher said it was sooooo illegal, but again it isnt that bad compared to buying a burned copy or downloading an image.

perhaps it does not work because you use the serial of the german version. i did not test it because i have no english serial.

You didn't bought the game. You only bought ONE license to install and play the game. This license allows you to install and play it on ONE computer. If you want to install and play it on another computer, you have to uninstall it from the first computer.
