DPM of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Hi there. Has anyone succeeded in reading the DPM-info of the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory DVD? I've tried to do so, but Alc120 always gets stuck at about 33% and then aborts. I already tested each read speed but no success so far. Only when I switch the detection precision to 'normal' I'm able to read the info. The result is really awful, so I don't recommend switching down to 'normal'.

Hmm,i read somewhere that the new starforce version is blocking this

use starforce remover and try again, maybe it works

Mino-Ger 31-03-2005 11:30

I managed to, but I haven't got past the CD check of the mounted DPM-image because StarForce always recognizes it as a copy and tells me that the given CD key could not be varified with my image. If anyone knows the next step, I could trade you the .mds file I got ^^

Thanks for the info about the new starforce release blocking the DPM-readout. I try starforceremover. Hope it still works!

I have the correct dpm for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Made with DPM profile set to high mode and extraction speed 1x with Pioneer DVR-108.

But I've found that newer StarForce3 version currently blacklist all virtual mounting devices, until Star****er or StarForce Nightmare (maybe even Daemon Tools) won't be updated to fix it.

I still didn't manage to read them. Perhaps my drive isn't good enough to do so. I guess I just have to wait. :p
Could someone please send me the DPM? Thank you very much!

Does your original work well with your drive? did it install ok and stuff?

Da.Schneida 31-03-2005 14:16

Yes, my original disc works fine, there are no problems at all. But I prefer running the games from a copy in order to protect the original. The only problem is that if I want to do that I need a fine working DPM file and my drive doesn't succeed in creating one.

Try this solution, it should work:

Hello karlmueller,

Thx for the tip through USB2.0. Did you try this for
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory ?

Cuz, it's starforce 3.4.71.19 and i've tested all the
known tricks (mini-image with DPM info
+ sf nightmare for IDE disable and emulation)
and this does not work :(

Otherwise, i'll give it a try this week-end (if i can
find an IDE-USB2 adapter or a DVD USB2.0 drive... :D )

Thx

Try this with daemon tools

1. Install Daemon tools, when installing rename the 2 bus names (you will see when installing) to anything other than the default names. Protections recognise these names.

2. Mount your DPM image on daemon, disable any alcohol drives and close alcohol, then go back to daemon and to the option to mount a drive you will see device parameters, in there change Vendor ID, etc (3 at the top) to anything.

3. Enable all the emulation including RPMS, then close daemon from the taskbar and when asked keep the emulation on. This will close the daemon program but leave the drives with the image mounted.

4. Run starforce nightmare, disable your cd-roms (not virtual drive) and if you have the game installed on a SATA drive disable ATA, if not dont disable ATA. Also disable nodes.

5. Run game, if asked for another drive, open up daemon and make another virtual drive and mount the image on it, and then close daemon again keeping emulation on.

6. This should run the game :)

Remember this is only for legal backups.

Thx for the tip.

Did you try this on Splinter Cell Chaos theory or other recent startforce 3.4.7xx
protected game ?

deutschc 01-04-2005 05:47

THX

But this not work!

sry for my Bad English.........

DABhand 01-04-2005 05:53

Ouch, oh well :\

You can change the driver names in Alcohol also, try that way also :)

Niko76 01-04-2005 07:30

Even changing Alcohol's name virtual SCSI bus, mini image trick doesn't work. I think it's a sort of blacklisting problem regarding newer StarForce 3.4.71.xx
I hope a new version of Star****er or StarForce Nightmare could fix this problem, or wait for a Reloaded crack.
