I think you've got it the wrong way around, "podunkviller", CD's that you use once or twice a year should be burnt onto archive quality discs!! The stuff you use often could be done on lower quality...

I've never ever seen such a thing as a gold backed CD-RW. Maybe they were around way before CD-RW technology became popular. Who knows.
