Pre-patching Doom 3 help

I've isolated the new files that were included in the patch - now my problem is to get Installshield to include these new files with the install. I've edited the "file" table in the msi with Orca to include these new files, but it still won't copy the files across from the CD. At the start I would get an error mentioning the new files and the installation would quit, but after changing the entries slightly (of the new files) to what I would assume to be correct, the installation itself works perfectly. Could anyone help me on this?

Dunno why you bother with this. I install the game from the CD/DVD, apply the latest official update to it, extract the related registry entries into a file, RAR up the whole thing and then uninstall the game. The next time when I do have some time to play with it, I unRAR it, import the registry file and play. When another official update is released, I unRAR, apply, re-RAR. That's what I call a "full rip" that comes without the stupid installation process.

Perhaps he's like me. preferring to have a real installation that includes the latest patch too. I don't feel like raring a game archive and then unrar it. I want an installation...

But mostly I get too lazy and just creates a backup with the latest patch and crack in a folder on the CD...
