First time ever at backing up DVD: need help

Hi.

I am very basic with computers so please forgive me.

I have been trying to backup my first DVD using DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink.

Everything worked out fine until the very end when I had to write.

I get this message:

I/O Error!

I have attempted to use a lot of DVD-RW discs but not one of them has thus far worked.

your log says scsi status 2, is this writer connected to an add-in card possibley, or maybe ide 3 or 4 on your motherboard? if it is you need to make sure they support optical/atapi device's
