USBeXtreme V12 PSTwo USB HDD game booting application

Some interesting news about the long rumored V12 USB HDloader type application called USBeXtreme. Here is the link to their site which (not so oddly) redirects you to the HDAdvance web site.

USBeXtreme allows you to convert your PS2 games to USB HDD and run directly from the USB HDD connected to your console. It is compatible with ALL version of PS2 (included PSX).
What impresses me is they claim it not only works with all versions of the PS2 but PSX also. This would be very cool to be able to play PSX games from HDD. Now I know many people have said "Oh yeah it’s USB 1.1!!! It will be very slow" Well it will be slow when compared to HDloader but it wont be any slower then playing the games right from the disc drive its self (hopefully) so the real advantage here is simply the ability to play your back-ups from HDD which will be very nice for V12 users.

From what I understand there is a PC side app that you must use to format the HDD as well as install the games from the PC. Not a big deal as most people do it this way these days with HDloader as it is. One advantage will be its USB so you wont have to open your PC to get at an IDE port.

Here are my predictions.

1) USBeXtreme will be released and sold like crazy.
2) Shortly after that it will be hacked and simmered down to a simple .elf file and be able to be burned to a CD-R.
3) Shortly after that some one will find a way to load it in dev mode with the Infinity and/or Crystal Chip allowing V12 users to no longer need the disc at all.
4) Then shortly after that the Toxic crew will release a hacked Toxic-OS specifically for V12 users that has the DMS4 Pro installed.

Or maybe I'm just hoping it goes along these lines

I'm not advocating the HDA crew in any way but simply the technology they are developing and if they actually have a good working app maybe they will redeem themselves to the rest of the scene.

We will have to wait and see but it looks like some interesting stuff is about to break soon.
