My Nero 6.6.0.3 can not recorgnize CD-R 800MB

Anyone pls tell me why my Nero can not see a CD-R 800MB at full capacity: it shows only ~700MB regarless my CD-R is true 800MB, and after I burn full 700MB on it, there is still large portion unwriten near the trim of disc. Is this wrong recorgnization comes fr Nero or fr drive firmware. I'm using Yamaha external CRD-70. How is the solution

Did you first check if your burner support 800MB CD-R's, only a very few number of burner support these discs...

That is a very old burner, released in 2001 if i am not mistaken, You will need a newer burner to support 800mb.

ya have to enable overburn for it to do the full 800mb (if it supports overburning) if it doesn't then you could potentialy damage the burner

totally normal that 800mb CD-R are identified as 700mb. althought some 800mb show 800mb. but thats up to the cd-r manufacterer.
