Exclamation Sims 2 CD to DVD Backup.

alright after spending a few minutes ive figured a rudeimentary solution on how to put it onto dvd..

first copy all the cds to your hard drive.

go into each folder and extract the compressed.zip file to /compressed

copy the /tsdata/control/controlX.dat, where x is 1-3, to the cd1 folder.
make sure that u do that for each of the 3 files.

after u have extracted out the compressed.zip files combine them all into one folder, make sure that u keep directory structures.

open up the common_filelist.txt and make it look like this.

1,1,sims2_uninst.exe
1,1,eauninstall.ico
1,1,TSBin\1.0.0.932
1,1,TSBin\Sims2.exe
1,1,TSBin\Sims2.exe.bak
1,1,TSData\Res\*.* /s
1,1,TSData\Sys\*.* /s
1,1,Support\*.* /s
1,1,eauninstall.exe
1,1,TSData\Control\control0.dat
1,1,Sims2.ico
1,1,CSBin\1.0.0.932
1,1,CSBin\PackageInstaller.exe
1,1,CSBin\properties.txt
1,1,CSBin\TS2BodyShop.exe
1,1,TSData\Control\control1.dat
1,1,TSData\Control\control2.dat
1,1,TSData\Control\control3.dat

i have added the no cd crack to the tsbin folder so that it automatically installs, but i have renamed the original exe and had it copy over. this way after install u can click play game now and it will succesfully launch the game.

test burn with RW.

The correct and "universal" way to pass to DVD can be found on CdSTeam on this post.

Feel free to translate into english to make it universal (cause it is a little variation of this one above)

CdSTeam.

Thks Okmk1 first to make this possible.

TIP: This is a modified method and maybe more explained from this one.

neuen Verzeichnis SIMS2_DVD.nun sollten dort 4 CONTROL.DAT dateien vorhanden seien

1,1,Sims2_uninst.exe
1,1,eauninstall.ico
1,1,TSBin\1.0.0.932
1,1,TSBin\Sims2.exe
1,1,TSData\Res\*.* /s
1,1,TSData\Sys\*.* /s
1,1,Support\*.* /s
1,1,eauninstall.exe
1,1,TSData\Control\control0.dat
1,1,Sims2.ico
1,1,CSBin\1.0.0.932
1,1,CSBin\PackageInstaller.exe
1,1,CSBin\properties.txt
1,1,CSBin\TS2BodyShop.exe

1 more way to burn and install to dvd

I'm sure that the methods posted here will work to install from 1 dvd rather than having to use the 4 cd's but i've found another and possibly simpler way to burn and install from a dvd. I created 4 folders naming them cd1 through cd4. I put the image files into the correct folder and used nero to put them on a dvdr as data. Install daemon tools and set 4 virtual drives and with the data disc in my real dvd rom I loaded the image files for each 4 cd's to the virtual drives in daemon tools. The install can now be done without having to swap discs and everything can be stored on one dvdr disc. Hope this helps someone as it's a simple way to use 1 dvdr instead of 4 cdr's.
PS... I also put the dameon tools install file on the disc in case I wanted to install this to another pc that didn't already have daemon tools installed on it.

I realy couldn't care less of to make cd to a DVD backup.

WHY don't you all waith for the DVD version + bonus on the Sims? And then you have 2 copies of Sims 2. And you can have the DVD+bonus disc as a backup disc for the cds. I resolved your problem, behave your self or I nuke you all! Mohahahahahahaha, beer, mohahahahaha, beer, mohahahaha, beer, muoahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaaaaaaa!
