Crossover Cable length
What is the Max length you can use. My pc is downstairs and the xbox is up stairs. I would like to use about 30 ft of it so I don't have to bring my xbox down all the time to work onit.

Maximum length for a cat 5e ethernet cable is 100 metres.

max length. I don't think cat5 cables can have a max length.

well, I have cat5e cable wired through my walls that reach over 30 feet. So, you should be fine.

my xbox is 6 foot from my main pc but my cable is about 40 foot in length just incase i need to move the xbox , it works perfectley

anything under 50 feet is ok but 50+ you'll need a switch.
