Even has the same type of boot procedure and PAL V7 limitations:
Operations Procedures: - Direct boot all PS2 Media (CD/CD-R/DVD/DVD-R/DVD Silver/ Import Original) except for PAL V7 (see below). - There is a restriction on the Magic 2 v7 applicable to PAL PS2s whereby it can only play PS1 games from the same region as the PS2. So a PAL v7 can only play PAL PS1 games (30002/3/4 are interchangeable in this regard). With the disk assumed in the tray and the tray closed: - For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap is required. - For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot. - Please turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Mode (PS1/PS2/DVD) - For soldering the power and ground wires, please use a thicker cable (22awg=21swg) - For soldering to the other points, please use 32awg=34swg cable Everybody check out the website: China-Matrix.com

It does look like magic 2 even on installation diagram.............
The only differant about this chip is the video mode: Video: [FIXED] Screen Auto-Adjust NTSC/PAL [FIXED] Green Problem with RGB scart cable [FIXED] Color Correction for PAL Console BG did u try this chip urself?.... It never mantion about supporting AR2/GS but Z point is still there to use......
