I have the No Solder v5 and it works perfectly if you use this method....

To all of you that trying the dave mirra trick with the new AR2 V2.1 (new v) and it Doesn’t work .
I will explain what I done:
1. create a new entry in the code list and call this game code "DVD-R"
2. create an empty code entry in this "DVD-R" game code and call this entry "dummy-code"
3. Boot the ps2 with the AR2, then swap (just regular eject) the AR2 disc with a DVD original larger then the DVDR you trying to boot and wait 20 sec.
4. chose AR codes from the main menu and turn on or off this "dummy-code" before you start the game .
5. chose start game-with codes and press X then it says updating code list and in this exact time press the eject for 2 sec for open the tray with the r-mod chip and swap the original DVD with the DVD-r.
Good luck

Hope it works for you too

grrrrr

I just cannot get anything to work. I have tried tekken tag
(cd rom game) ICO (cd rom) and dvd rip of jack and daxter. noen worked. all were under the size they should be. I got no clue what is wrong. I dont think it is my mod chip because when i hold eject at swap time it works and it closes after 5 secs liek it suppose to so that is all the mod chip is needed for. hmmm no clue

What type of Media are you using to burn with... The PS2 can be a little bitchy with cheaper media sometimes.....One last thing, if you can, junk the no-solder mod and get the MESSIAH!!!!!!
