smunisto : I followered your intructions to the letter and it does NOT work for me .
I AM talking about the 2.1 patched version. ( maybe my image is no good? ) but it does work fine even without YASU on X3TC v2.0 . just NOT working for 2.1 |

There is no need for YASU or any other tool, just recreate your image with latest DT Pro.

Actually after last night I realised the way of running the game that I described doesn't work...always.
It seems that it runs randomly, but around the 20th try. I tried restarting and cloaking with YASU, and sometimes the game starts, but not very often. So I am giving up on the Terran Conflict until a proper...lets say "tool" is released, or until the next patch, where hopefully TAGES will be removed. EDIT: Update 06.07. - I got nerves of steel, so I'm playing the game. The way I start it - I spam the X3TC shortcut icon with the original img in the DT virtual drive and YASU running(dunno whether it's needed at all) until 10 or 20 instances of the .exe run simultaneously. Then I just start clicking "Ok" when the "Insert the original CD" error pops up and eventually - after 10-15 errors the game launcher starts. It can piss you off big time, but If you're so desperate to play X3TC that's the way to run it :P Last edited by smunisto; 06-07-2009 at 10:17. |

I thank you!So basically you just need to use the old method "try to click it untill it works", trully it might get quite annoying in the long run, especially if the game feels like crashing often, but then again it IS working so all is good. PS: How the hell did you come up with that solution? (really, I'm very curious :P)

So instead of just inserting the Original game disc, which you surely own, you prefer to click 15 times on an icon. Inserting the Original game disc, which you surely own, must be a real chore to you. When you bought the Original game, which I am sure you did, haven't you thought about the fact that inserting the disc is such a chore?

You'd be surprised by the amount of usually-annoying-things that seem so interesting in such a day. @Dytexx Actually yes, I do own the original game, the game DVD is inserted into my laptop. Sadly, my cousin borrowed the laptop(and with it the game DVD) while on a 2 month visit in Germany

LOL... those 15 clicks on the executable increase the processing making the TAGES drivers when checking the virtual drive think it's a real DVD drive and accept the image.
There are freeware programs out there called "RightMark CPU Clock Utility". It let's you adjust the CPU & Throrttle speed - this is similar to the 15 simultaneously clicks. Google for more help about X3 & this utility. |

I found way to do it.
Start multiple instances of x3 tc, when you get first error, dont click ok. Go to task manager, and check if there is x3 tc exe with 45.616 memory allocated, close all others, that one with 45616 will run. I just run it 3 times this way. other two memory numbers were 45592 and 45588 and neither of this wouldnt run. ![]() enjoy works with 45624 too. Update its easier to run it with loaded cpus, i usually do blender render. deal is to load cpu then run exe. Last edited by GrizzLyCRO; 07-07-2009 at 06:57. |

Hey guys, i've just registered to help you guys.
What I did was searched everywhere for new image but couldn't find it. Then i discovered that you can still use the X3_Terran_Conflict_(NORMAL_tages_MINI_image_by_xKV tor).mds Just make sure you keep a backup of X3TC.exe dvm.dll before the 2.1 patch. After the patch copy the files back use the 2.0 files It works for me without any problem or clicking the exe 15 times lol. Cheers |

Using files of different versions together may cause strange, unexpected behavior so, no, your solution is not good.
