They got tired of the one-click generic unpackers it seems... so they moved to a 'professional' protection... little do they know what awaits them :P (safecast and activemark both have one click generic unpackers floating around on teh internetz...)

yeh but means macrovision dont own safedisc etc anymore.. weird development

Really? From what I understand, all they did was buy the rights to use the actual software, and not the rights to the entire software (dev rights, source code & all...).

And also Real Networks is disgusting too. Let's see whats happen now

They are supposed to be contrapart with Real One playe vs Windows Media but they act the same way like Microsoft

Yeah, Realplayer pours garbage all over the system: files, registry entries, associations. I HATE IT! (I didn't let it get near my PC's for years although I couldn't persuade my father into using VLC or Mplayer instead.) Let's see what the same company can do with another software...

Man I use those ones on my Linux machine. They are very good and not the disgusting "downloading codec to use everything". It's good talk to people in forums that think geeky than most disgusting people I know in real life that think I am like mad when I speak

aah well if they bought the rights then more fool them.... they'll learn just how much they pissed their money up the wall i guess soon enough..
