NFS Carbon: HOWTO Play Other Peoples Saves

Need for Speed: Carbon Collector's Edition

To Change your CDKEY To Play Other Peoples Saved Games

The Key is the save game file is saves your cdkey in the save game file!

Remember to save your save game file before you try this!

This was easy to do I downloaded a saved game changed my cdkey to the
same as the saved game file I downloaded.

If you would like to learn to do this.

1) download Hex Workshop 4.2 or any HEX Program
2) open save game file

Starts at offset 0000003c
20 Char long this is near top right side windows
Ends at offset 00000050

3) when you open HEX Program it is the only 20 char near the top very easy
to find.....

Example Only:
123a123b123c123d123e (this is not REAL) 20 CHAR
But in the text editor it's all together there is only letters and numbers.

4) Change CDKEY GoTo:
Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed Carbon\Support\Need for Speed Carbon_code.exe

Copy Saved Games to:

Documents and Settings\GodSpeed\My Documents\NFS Carbon

Remember to save your save game file before you try this!
To get your cdkey and save it.
So you can play those saves also.

Have Fun GodSpeed

Whaddafuck, you can't distribute/trade savegames on the Net as everyone can only play his or her own savegames?!

Also we are talking about using keys here, if someone is saying they are willing to give out a key of their own, then its safe to assume its warez.

Even not its still against the rules to talk about the cd-keys etc? no?

Noone gave out their keys (yet). It's only a description of how to hack a savegame to contain your (private) CD-key, in order to be able to load a savegame on your (private) PC. I see no nothing against the rules here...

[...] Oh, I think I understand now. People who give away their savegames will be pissed off about also having given away their CD-key. See http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?p=331156 for more infos. We can't help it. Discussing this problem is not against the forum rules, distributing such savegames... well, I don't know... this is a situation that has no precedence.

This issue is now fixed by the Need for Speed: Carbon SAVEGAME VALIDATOR v1.00 (see gamecopyworld). However The current version is VERY buggy as you need the default My Documents location (else you get Run-Time error '5' messages) and it can only be used on a pc with NFSC installed else nothing can be entered.... The NFSC Savegame Selector from http://www.nfszone.com/NFS_Carbon/Downloads/Savegame (command line, but can handle the alternative mydoc locations, source available) or the sivin's pro saver (also very buggy) http://sivin.borec.cz/sivin-pro-saver-nfs-carbon

Could you upload (or ask the author to do so) NFSC Savegame Selector to GCW via http://ul.gamecopyworld.com? Thanks!
