Looking For F.E.A.R. Version 1.4, No CD Patch. ;)

To Luciel & RincewindTheWiz,


I understand what it is that you are trying to tell me,
so if the No DVD Patch should work with the F.E.A.R.
Set of CD's, could you please let me know if my
procedure (method) is correct.

1) Make a copy of the original exe, paste it into a folder
on your desktop for safe keeping.
2) Overwrite the original exe with the New No DVD Patch.
3) Use create shortcut and make a new shortcut for the
game and place it onto your desktop.
4) Restart your computer.
5) Using the new shortcut on your desktop, click it and
play the game.

If my procedure (method) is correct, and I seem to be
doing everything right, then as far as I know the No DVD
Patch does not work with the F.E.A.R. Set of CD's.

It would be nice if someone else has the F.E.A.R. Set of
CD's, to try and see if the No DVD Patch works for them,
at least that way if it does work for them, then I would
know that the fault lies in my hands. However I do believe
I am correct about this information.

I will remain patient and wait (not whine, lol), because
you never know, someone might decide to come up with
a No CD Patch for this game in the future (if time and luck
permits).

I would like to express my most sincere thanks to all of you
who have tried to help me, I am very grateful for your time
and especially your patience with me, I really appreciate
your efforts on my behalf.

I am grateful for your very quick response Luciel,
thank you very much again for all of your input,
I really appreciate all of your efforts on my behalf.

It is nice to know that my procedure (method) is
the correct way of using a No CD Patch, even if it
is more then what is really necessary.

My only hope now is to be patient and wait to see
if the F.E.A.R. Community gets lucky.

Hopefully in time someone will decide to help out,
and come up with a No CD Patch besides a No DVD
Patch for F.E.A.R., so that eventually other F.E.A.R.
players like myself will have a No CD Patch for the
game and all of its updates.

To the individual who may decide in the future to
help out the F.E.A.R. Community, I wanted to offer
my most sincere thanks in advance.

Just in case someone does step forward and takes
on this task, please know in advance that should
you decide to do this for the Community, it would
most certainly be really appreciated, and others
who are in the same position as I am would be
extremely grateful to you for doing this, many
thanks again in advance.

I am officially now in the Twilight Zone lol


But I tried the v1.4 and it worked ok for me, Euro English (not sure if american is same) so I dunno why it isnt working for you other than it could be location specific.

I am just curious, do you happen to have the F.E.A.R.
Set of CD's, or are you using the F.E.A.R. DVD Set?

If you are using the F.E.A.R. Set of CD's, could you
please tell me how you got it to work.

Funny that you should bring that up, hehe.

I do write, however it has always bugged me the
way some people destroy the english language,
and so whenever I get the opportunity to write,
I use the proper English when writing posts, letters,
etc., no matter what it is that I am writing at the
time, I always tend to use proper English, lol.
