Sims 2 Open for Business no cd

If you want to play your Open for Business without the CD just make an image of it, mount it, run Safedisk 4 hider, and play. That will have to do until theres a mini-image available.

Whats the protection of this game? I was thinking of making a mini image of my disc but i dont know the protection, there for i dunno if it'll work.

Also it would be handy if anyone knows of a program that scans for copy-protection on cd's/dvd's and tells me what its using.

I made a iso image with alcohol. Mount it. Start SafeDisc4 Hider. Start Sims 2 open for business. But I still get the message that I have to insert the original disc.

Should the image have a special name or something?

you must mount cd 4 from sims 2 not from the add-on!

Not true. It says something like "please insert the Sims open for business disk into your cd-rom drive", not the sims 2 cd. I tested it btw.

The Sims 2 - Open for Business

Copybase.ch says that The Sims 2 - Open for Business has SafeDisc 4.60.000 as copy protection:

I will test this for myself the next days and try to get the game running.

u only need a good image from the original cd.after that u mount it in daemon and run sd4 and press hide.works fine for me.

some times there is a problem with alcohol so u have to disable daemon an use alcohol to run the game.

As I posted in the previous thread, I was able to get it going like so.
  • Create an image using Alcohol 120% Safedisc 2/3 (New) profile of my bought copy of OFB
  • Use Curerom and create a profile for OFB
  • Use Daemon Tools 3.04HE to mount the image, with no emulation set
  • Finally use the shortcut created by Curerom to launch the game.

For the 4th point, from within the Curerom profile, you can set it to mount the image, and then unmount it when your done. This worked fine for me, and I didn't even have to use the Safedisk 4 Hide program. Unfortunately, this is my only option until a working Mini-image comes out.

From the previous expansions, I was able to make my own mini-image using Alcohol... but not with this new one. I wonder what they changed....

Hope this helps some people!
