Dawn of War - Winter Assault (A Working Way No CD)

Well, I registered to reply to this thread. Anyway, I was surprised (positively so) when I noticed how great the copy protection companies were doing. I didn't think they had any chance. Good job to them. It's nice to face a challenge sometimes

This is my solution, probably done before:

1) Install DOW
2) Install WA
3) Rename Disk1Check to Disk 1 Check OLD.Bak. Prob doesn't matter what you name it, as long as you rename it. This is what I called it though.
4) Mounted the small 4 meg something image from GCW in D-Tools. No emulation activated.
5) Too bad Imperial Guard sucks (don't let the Baneblade deceive you - they get it far too late). Long live the Eldar!

does tha nocd crack released by fairlight for dow GOTY work for winter assault too? because i think the GOTY includes both dow and winter assault. thanks

Okay, after messing around a bit with several tools, I finally got it working.

What you need:
- Daemon Tools 4.0
- wh40kwa-mini MiniImage from GCW (the 20,xx MB Blindwrite image)
- SR7.Stop 1.0 (get it at CDMediaworld)

First, start up DT4; leave all emulation options DISABLED.
Mount the mentioned Blindwrite MiniImage witg DT4.
Execute SR7.Stop and click 'Hide'; Leave SR7.Stop OPEN while you're playing!
Now execute the W40kWA.exe from the DOW:WA directory.

Thats how it works for me (Complete game, not only skirmish or so )

Ok i have finally found a way to get it to start after about 6 hours of reading the ways listed here and trying them. Now that it starts it will load through the movies and then get to the Please wait loading... screen 3 secs or so after it shuts itself off. Does anyone else have this problem or know how i can fix it. I know it is not my hardware because i have played it before on this computer before i patched to 141. Second, is there a way for me to roll back my patching to 140? 141 seems to be the starting point of my problems. also if it helps here is the warning log

The process i used to get it to start was.

- Start daemon tools v4.0 and mount the .bwt mini image.
- Shut off daemon tools
- Not sure that this affected anything but i then turned on anti-blaxx and shut it off again.
- i then started the game and it worked fine no errors. (now just to get around this loading problem.)

OK guys for those of you who have a Blindwrite version (and are to cheap to go buy the game) I have found a way to make winter assault work with a bit of hassle but it should be worth it. Now on with it:

1> Keep the .BWA file but move it (not copy) or cut and paste into another Folder why not call the folder BWA

2> Have only tried it on Daemon Tools v3.47 so im not sure if it will work on highers i guess it should

3> Try to have DoW v1.40 (not sure if 1.0 will work or another version for that fact)

4> Test DoW v1.40 (note this is just what i did)

5> Install Winter Assault

6> Move .BWA file back into CD1 of Winter Assault

7> Turn on Securom emulation in daemon tools reason for this is becasue it will emulate the certain files on the original cd that are not there in the burned copy thus allowing it to be read with less error

8> change the file disk1check.exe to disk1check.exe.bak (idea form someone elses post good idea guy)

9> then run Winter Assault through i believe the .BWT file or W40kWA.exe

Also would like to note I am not using the Mini Image and no it doesnt work this way but you'll need teh .BWT file in daemon tools to play though

If all else fails just keep trying different ideas mix and match them until it works for you.

Well, I tried ALL the solutions over this point but NO ONE worked!
I think my problem is the following: I cant mount the bwt file from the crack!
Daemon Tools v4 says "File not accesable!"
Please help me.
P.S.: I got the 2nd cd and a key cause the 1st cd has been crashed ba my little sister!

Contact the publisher for a replacement disc.

ok well seems I'm on my way to get cracking to play this game soon. I am fairly new to this brilliant collection of ideas. well If it may be so I have to thank the person that made this increadibly easy thanks Reloaded. I have to find the crack first lol.... happy new years 2!

yeah thats funny, i cant get it to work... I have just a few hours exp... and i cant get it to work just tells me to insert the cd/dvd... i tried a couple of things mentioned but i f**k it up somehow...

Ok so your new to adding cracks to your game but surely you must have been able to play it without the use of a crack? By using the disc to play I mean!
