Do you have your CPU and/or GPU overclocked? If so, turn the clocks down and try again.

Have you patched the game to the latest version, if not try that.

Just a Thought, but are you running (or installed) stuff like Clonecd, clonedvd?

Vampire bloodlines reacts poorly to these programs

Don't let Luciel see this thread!

As has been mentioned (for those that don't know) this is NOT a support forum.

Try the unnoficial path v1.8:

It may help seeing as Troika are no longer in business!

but it also had alot of bugs.

Kinda troika: Great games, Big bugs...

@G-Man: If you don't like the forum rules then, instead of complaining about them, please, feel free to leave the forum and try somewhere else where the rules are less strict. Thank you! Also, if everyone with any game-related problem came here asking then the forum would have magnitudes more garbage then now - just think about it!

I"ll keep my mouth shut, but as a last note: if no one put posts here, you"d be a very very quiet organised strict forum idd

It may be a *forum* but it's not *your* forum and is subject to *rules* as other forums are, but not your *idea* of what those rules should be.

This is a *PC Games Backup Forum* not Technical Support. We all know people with pirated games come here looking for cracks, Technical Support and such, we just don't know who they are unless they are really stupid and say so or make it obvious!

The primary goal is to help *legitimate* purchasers make backups of their games, and as such we rely on people being honest enough to buy their games. Even then, we can't be responsible for peoples actions if they choose to pirate games, just like a Gun Store can't be held responsible if you buy a Gun that's used for criminal purposes, or a Car Dealer for selling a car used for criminal activities. Pardon the pun, but nobody is putting a gun to your head and making you come here, you use or abuse the information in this forum as your conscience sees fit!

But to come here and start *telling us* what we are supposed to do won't be tolerated by the moderators just because *you* don't happen to agree with their policies, so please, drop the attitude!

@G-man: Please, show me the part in the original post that has anything related to "backing up original PC games and making these backups work", the gist of what this forum and the GCW site is about. If you can't - and you definitely can't as this posts was about problems with an original game, not a backup! -, there's nothing for you to complain about this particular thread.

As for the forum rules and moderator attitude in general on this forum, 1) both are strict to hush away (read: ban) idiots who come here and (try to) discuss their non-working warez copies and 2) it's none of your business anyway. (If someone downloads games, that's "fine", just don't waste anyone's time with making it work. If you're so smart that you can download games, also be smart enough to make them work. Otherwise buy the original and complain at the publisher - NOT HERE! - if you have problems using it.) Again, if you don't like the forum rules, please. leave. (Or create your own forum where everything - including warez - can be discussed so that noone will have the right to call your forum "a bunch of hypocrites" or similar. Rest assured that warez-user idiots will suffocate your forum long before it is closed down because of a game publisher filing an official complaint at your ISP... )

In short, you don't need to like the forum rules; you "only" have to follow them. If you can't, that's your problem, not the forum's. (Unless you're a really helpful and intelligent person, perhaps, author of many no-CD patches. Then the forum would lose a lot by letting you leave. However, I can't decide from only a dozen posts of yours...)

As for a "very very quiet organised strict forum", yes, I would definitely like that. I would prefer (to be able) to read a few useful and interesting posts a week rather than a dozen senseless posts from idiots with dyslexia (and sometimes dysgraphia, too) every day...

May aswell through photoCOPY out the window too huh?

There is a difference anyways from a copy and a warez copy..

But overall, this forum is not an avenue for tech support about how to get games working on your machine if it crashes.

We dont know the ins and outs of the games, developers do. Thats the best people to ask.

Like Joe said this is the backup section of the forum, its about trying to get a backup running or no-cd.

Its a forum, yeah its a forum. But every forum has rules, and I take it you didnt read this forums rules. So there is no point waltzing in and thinking you know how forums work, because you dont, nobody does, as all forums are different. There is no generic forum type.
