Dawn of War - Winter Assault (A Working Way No CD)

I've had no problems with Anti-Blaxx. I'm guessing that the people who's system it messed with probably used the Delete Entries method instead of the Hide Entries method. Anti-Blaxx states quite prominantly that the Delete method is 'more dangerous'.

Or maybe I'm just using it wrong. =P

Yeah, but by default it deletes the entries when you start it up. Go figure

Hang on, if I was to create a system restore point, and if AntiBlaxx did any damage, would the restore point fix it?

EDIT: Well, everything seems to be fine. I chose the 'hide' option. I checked device manager and my cd drive is still there, as well as it being in 'my computer'.

Still a bit wary though...

well, i did the task as maxtor described it - only with a small difference, so i am gonna repeat what i've done:

- installed & patched DoW, installed WA
- renamed "Disk1Check.EXE" to "Disk1Check OLD.EXE" (this only works if installation is completely finished! ye have to wait till it tried to start once, but better don't insert the original CD, just let it tell ye "no disc inserted" or whatever, coz this will speed up the whole process, if ye dont have to start the game. i have recieved the message "WA is corrupt. Please reinstall DoW and WA" or something - ignore this, don't reinstall!)
- DLed the ALCOHOL-mini instead of the DAEMON-mini (so 30MB instead of 5MB)
- installed DAEMON (used the link on gamecopyworld.com)
- rebooted (necessary for DAEMON)
- when having rebooted, right-clicked DAEMON --> Emulation --> All options OFF
- right-clicked DAEMON --> Virtual CD/DVD-ROM --> Device 0: [X:] No Media --> Mount image ; then i chose the WH40KWA-MINI.BWT to be mounted
--> started the game with the W40kWA.exe (NOT with WinterAssault.exe!)

well, then my graphics setup had to be configured and i entered the game.
there was no problem.

Hi all!

For two days I've tried in vain all possible NO-CD solutins described here. I've mounted two different mini-images on a numerous CD emulating software. Have delited and renamed CD check.exe etc. etc. tec, but nothing worked.

Yesterday I decided to try one more time.... AND IT WORKED! Even more, I think I know what was causing it.

When the game lounched my firewall software went up asking if it should allow W40K:WA to connect to internet. Naturally I've pressed no. It totally makes sense, because Doom 3 expansion had similar protection.

I'm not sure it it is _The One_ solution for problems that lot of you are having, but certainly it is woth to try. If you don't have firewall, just disable or plug out network connection.

I found this "no-cd crack" on w w w . g a m e b u r n w o r l d . c o m. Because it's not a normal no-cd crack here a part of the readme:

"INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

This program is used to run Dawn of War: Winter Assault using the standard
Dawn of War CD - or no CD at all if you have that cracked/mounted/GameJacked!

Simply run the exe and change the config so you can run Winter Assault as a mod from within
Dawn of War. You won't be able to log on to the lobby, but single player works, as does an online game if
you direct host/join and EVERYONE ELSE playing also uses WA_ModMan.exe.

Run WA_ModMan again to restore Winter assault to normal"

Install Dawn of War
Apply v1.01 Patch.
Apply v1.10 Patch.
Apply v1.20 Patch.
Apply v1.30 Patch.
Apply v1.40 Patch.
Install Winter Assault
Mount WA1.mdf (5355KB from gamecopyworld.com)
Play the game.

7.and the game work like charm .... minus the movie of winter assault

hey i've done exactly what u said....n winter assualts runs, but the problem is, when i try to run "new campaign" of winter assault, it give me this error "FATAL Scar Error - Execution Paused" .. and game become paused.

i can play only skirmish game of winter assualt, but unable to play campaign missions, please help

The crack isn't a crack, just an exploit... I would stick to the mini image if you want to play campaign and multiplayer. With the *fix* shall we call it, you can only play skirmish.

that new exploit thingy from *********************************** works fine, but only skirmish and direct host/join works. Which is perfectly fine with me. Cuz if u have original Winter assault, u probablly only want to run another copy of it for multiplayer, no?

Campaign gives Fatal Scar Error (probablly for everyone), but Direct Host/Join works fine.
