Virtual CD Hide won't unhide

what the F is with this program? It says restarting windows will unhide my devices, but it doesn't. I can't access any of my REAL cd drives now. There is no uninstall, there are no options, there's nothing in the registery, there's no read me and no info on the website. HELP!

BTW, when I mouse over the icon it SAYS that all virtual drives are unhidden but that is simply not the case. ALL of my cd drives are hidden even after a cold boot. Daemon tools showed my virtual drives as 0 and 1 instead of f and g but after a reboot I can't access Daemon tools at all, it simply says error in daemon.dll. I have completely wiped this software off of my system and done multiple reboots/cold boots and still cannot access any of my non hdds.

This is some serious bullcrap, I'm not a friggin idiot so please help me out here. I can't believe people are installing all these new hacks without knowing what they do(yeah spare me irony posts). Both of my physical cd roms were disabled, yet re-enabling them does nothing. The status error says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because it's configuration information in the registry is either incomplete or damaged(code19).

I do not use windows restore so that is not an option.

WHAT DOES THIS PROGRAM CHANGE IN THE REGISTRY!?!?

Red face

I had the same problem and could not find a solution anywhere and the only way around it was to uninstall daemon tools and any registry entries (if you go to the daemon website it will tell you which entries to delete), then reboot and do a fresh install of daemon tools, I also had to do the same with alcohol 120 (once again go to the website forums to find out which registry entries to delete) to get the virtual drives working again.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the post, but no, of course it doesn't help. My issue is not with Daemon tools not working ( reinstalled it, duh ) but with the fact that this program has so throroughly ****ed up my registry that I'm going to have to reinstall windows in order to get my cdr/dvdr working again.

Delete the CD/DVD-ROM devices from your system in Device Manager, reboot and have the devices re-detected. You might try unplugging the physical devices (that means two reboots: first without the devices, then with them again) so that there's a moment when both all the registry entries and the physical devices are not present in the system. Good luck!

yeah I've done that too. What I really want to know is what exactly has changed in my registry.

@Nomad4
Unlike Antiblaxx 1.16, Virtual CD Hide can't delete registry entries, but only hide them. The changed 'rights management' will be restored on next reboot (Virtual CD Hide isn't capable of hiding pyhsical drives).
Furthermore i know there isn't any message implemented in Virtual CD Hide that says it would "unhide your devices after restart".
