dvd+r dl puts a lot of stress on the laser you would be better off putting it on hd loader or using the original

It does if you rip it to your pc hdd and flatten it then transfer it to your ps2 hdd. But with japanese versions of this game it does not work, nor can it be copied. It is made differently than normal dvd9's. We will have to wait and see if it will work.

I have back up GT4 using Nero and Verbatim DVD+R DL, burning with no problems but when i put on PS2, it only show (C) 2005 Sony Comp Enter Inc...All Manufacter...then turn to black screen.

By the way, I'm burning with Pioneer DVR-A09XLA.

From what i understand the game is writen in "parralel track path" format and pc dvd burners write in "opposite track path" which means the second layer is writen backwords and the ps2 cant find the correct data from the second layer.

eeeeek...... so the only way to get a working backup of this is to use hdloader and flatten it as Tyler suggests??

TIA

it doesn't work off of hd loader because the game chekcs for the second layer when it starts and because it's on the hard drive there is no second layer so it hangs at a black screen
