CD/DVD protection
Hiya all,
Ok, before I get flamed I'm not asking the same old question .... y'no, umm, backup don't work on my un-modded pstwo .... What I'm after is info on exactly how the original PStwo discs are burnt so that they don't work if backed up? Surely a blind write should mimic the originals info exactly? Do they write info in places that a std burner cannot get to? - if not, hth is it done? Thanx, X |

The discs are pressed, not burned. Each disc has code "etched" into it prior to them being pressed, which can not be copied. Burners simply don't see this data.

If I remember correctly, burners can see the data but they cannot write it. Tyler!
