BM freezing with message "Please wait..."

I burned Sega Bass Fishing Duel NTSC CD (about 500MB) on a Verbatim DataLifePlus 700MB CD-R with Nero (tried Disc-At-Once and also Track-At-One - is there a difference)

I have Crystal Chip with unofficial firmware but the game doesn't still load up. Bootmanager freezes with the text "Please wait..." when im starting to load the game in BootManager. The disc is still speeding up, slowing down, speeding up, slowing down (about every 2-3 seconds)

What am I doing wrong?

I dont know what you are doing wrong, but I had the same issues and I reflashed the chip and the problems went away. But try this...take the memory card out of the PS2 and see if the game auto loads. If it doesnt, then its a media/copy problem. If the game DOES load without the memory card (the BM will not load without the memory card in the socket), then you have a faulty BM (any version under 0.0.9 has some issues).

When i removed the Memory Card the game loaded up fine. So shold I flash the firmware or overinstall the old BootManager with a newer verison?

By the way - is Burnout 1 a CD game too?
Is there a difference when I write the game CD Track-At-Once or Disc-At-Once?

No difference in how you burn it, as long as all the data get you a 1:1 copy.

And as I figured, without the BM you were fine. Ok, here is what you do then. If you "can" delete the BM off your memory card, do so and upgrade it with a newer version of BM (0.0.9 is the most current). If you cannot delete it (which is my luck) then you can transfer all of your memory card files except the BM file to another clean memory card, then format the memory card (which will delete the BM). At this point you can then do a clean install.

My only issue is I have only one memory card (I cannot find the other one). So until then I am stuck with my BM not being able to load certain original games.

I both Flashed the Chip and Reinstalled BootManager from the the latest unofficial firmware disc. Works fine now.

Now another question. Can a game give me black screen when loading the disc because:
1) I burned it too fast (4x).
2) Burned it with the wrong program (ripped with Alcohol 120%, written with DVDDecrypter).
3) Image corrupted or something? (I really doubt about that - I think it is something with the burning process)

By the way - the game is Ratchet&Clank 3 and it is it has three files .mds mdf .md0. I opened the .mds and burned it.

I backed up WRC4 (ca. 2,7 GB) like that successfully but Ratchet&Clank3 (ca. 4,16 GB) gave me the problem I descibed in the beginning of the post.
