I use Dvd-decrypter and Dvd2One to decrypt and shrink movie files and nero to burn. I use Recordnow DX for games

There is no such thing as "best program to copy DVD". There are a number of really good programs - AnyDVD, DVD Cloner II, dvdSanta, DVDFab, Ulead - the list goes on and on and on. If you want to clone games - get Game Cloner.
If you are new to DVD cloning and all you want is just one-button solution that'll do the job for you, won't break the bank and won't give you any problems, check out DVDFab Express. I had it for two years and I am very happy with it.
Undoubtedly there are other solutions that do the trick equally well.
If you are going to buy it, do some price shopping. I always get my stuff from Deprice, DVDFab Express is sold there at 10% Off (this is the exact link
http://www.deprice.com/dvdfabexpress.htm), but check out froogle.com and pricegrabber.com, along with eBay - sometimes I buy my software at 50% off the shelf prices if I invest time in research. It's really worth it, because DVD software is usually in the 30-50 dollar range, so don't buy software from the very first site you find it at - check out what discounters have to offer.

CloneDVD2 question

I once tried CloneDVD2 during the 30 day trial period. I didn't get a chance to play with it for too long as after I installed it, I had computer problems.

Can you strip away the beginning garbage on DVDs? For example on some Disney DVDs you are forced to watch ads/previews before getting to the main menu selection. I would just like to pop in the DVD and start right away. I didn't see how to do that with the software.

The only thing I was able to figure out and play with was stripping away one of the surround sound features and degrading the video quality so that the copy would fit onto 1 DVD. I'm not putting down the software for that as I understand you have to do this with all copies, correct?

Right now I can't do a search for other posts on the topic as my computer web browsing is at a craaaaawwwlll. Norton found lots of spyware, but could not delete them. So I followed their instructions for deleting via erasing Registry entries and now my browsing is tremendously slooooooow. Pages load up slow than if I was on dial up. Aaaarrgh. Now i have an excuse to rid my computer of Windows Me (don't laugh....it worked for me, so I stuck with it). Reloading software is not something I look forward to.

Yes you can. I buy quite a few disney movies and boy do I hate the way they do that. So when I make a backup I always get rid of that crap. Starts right up on the menu too.

A garbage is something that does not work or works badly. I am not going to say that DVDFab Express is the best program in the world. It's not. It's probably the best program if all you want to do is to make a copy of DVD and you don't want any options. DVDFab is really a stripped down version, but it works very well - never had any problems with it. Don't know anybody who did.
I don't know if CloneDVD2 is a good program or not. If you Google CloneDVD 2 Problem, you'll get over 25000 results (here is just one example http://club.cdfreaks.com/lite/t-102979.html). Obviously, there are tons of people who have issues with this program. Frankly, if you buy the program that has more options, like CloneDVD2, the chances are that there will be more problems. I've heard of folks having problems with AnyDVD, DVD Cloner II, etc. - and these are all good programs. This is my point. There is no such thing as best DVD program. If you encounter a problem, then "sucks to be you". This is why sometimes it's better to go with a cheaper, less complicated program. Don't like DVDfab? Fine, dvdSanta will do.

@LukaBuka
Many people have different problems with different programs when others dont. A lot of the time it comes down to not knowing how to use it properly or something wrong with their systems.
Another reason more errors are maybe reported with CloneDVD 2 is probably because more people are using it! Its a percentage thing.
Oh, and yes I have use DVDFab before as well! But I do honestly find CloneDVD 2 to be better.

For Videos:
Use DVD Shrink to copy the DVD to Harddisc (to unlock the copy-protection) and burn it with Nero, CloneCD(DVD) or something else.

For Games you can also use CloneCD, Nero or Something else.
My favorite Copysoftware by Games is Alcohol 120%

Yes, Tyler, just when I showed side by side comparison and reviews that CloneDVD IS NOT any better, you edited my post and deleted all valuable info.
I guess you are just somenow interested in promoting CloneDVD. Oh well, let it be.

Um where in my post did I mention CloneDVD or DVDFab is garbage? I wasnt insinuating that with either program! What I did try to say is it sometimes depends on the users system. Just like with games, you can have 2 exact machines yet the game etc may not run on one but will on the other?
Nor did I insinuate 'Tyler' has a know everything attitude! Yes he likes CloneDVD, he may even have shares in it [ ], but I actually agree with him that it is a top program! I have used DVD shrink and DVDFab before and found they did an ok job, but I just find CloneDVD to be very user friendly and it has not let me down with a backup!
There is no point in bad mouthing someone just because they dont entirely agree with what you say! (I too have jumped the gun and bad mouthed someone and I ended up regretting it as that person has taught me so much since!)
Remember the Mods can always call in Rule #11.

This discussion somehow sounds familiar. There will always be discussions on whether which program is the best for ripping videos, backing up games,..and finally it leads nowhere.
There is absolutely no need to argue about that. Everybody has an opinion and has the right to share it with others. Besides that, my opinion is the only that counts:
CloneDVD and AnyDVD!!
(Sometimes VobBlanker!)
