The only program that will copy a dvd movie without having to do anything else is DVD X-Copy..... There is no DEMO for it..... You will have to purchase it.... $99.00.....

There are alot of programs in which you can backup a dvd movie, but they are more involved and usually require the use of 2 or more programs.....

Take a look at Doom9!!! ....

You will find alot of useful info there...

DVDXCOPY

I am thinking about getting DVDXCOPY.
I started looking at my DVD collection I want to backup and they are all over 4.7G. Does that mean I will have to use 2 DVD blanks for each movie.
How does that work with DVDXCOPY?

Thanks, Mark

DVDXCOPY V1.3 is the only version that supports PAL movies.

The program will automatically determine whether or not the movie will fit on one disk by stripping off the frilly bits.

I have personally used this program with good results and it is very easy to use.

If you e-mail me I've got some info about getting the program.

Follow this tutorial. It is absolutely brilliant and works perfectly. I have already done three DVD's using this method.

http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-menustripping.htm

and I can rip them down to one DVD-R without any fuss at all and it only takes me about one hour!

Yeah it works but why go through all that crap when you can just stick in the original, put in a blank, burn, and you have a backup?

Yes, you do have a point there but in the real world with those greedy money hungry B******* at places like Warner Bros etc, etc... it just can't be done so you have to go to the next best alternative and it isn't that hard anyway but if I had a choice I too would just stick an original in, read stick a blank in and burn - ah, well!
