Double lauer DVD-s on PS2 -how they working?

Hi, am interesting if someone knows how new Double LAUER DVD-s are
working on PS2? Or they don't?(PS2 v7,DMS3)

Might be waiting a while B/c the price of D/L Discs are still somewhat hefty..
Generics run at $8.00 from what I've seen while Decent ones such as Ritek goes much as $12.00..

As cheap as the PS2 lasers are i doubt they will last very long reading DL media.

i tried burning a couple DL discs, NONE of my readers could read the second layer not even the burner. read layer0 fine but when it hit 50% when layer1 starts i got a read error

Than what we suppost to do if SONY will swich to DVD9? Use RIP's?

Calm down brotha. I believe that our member Lufcfan has successfully played dual layered discs on his ps2. But that doesnt exactly mean all ps2's will play them. It really depends on your laser.

abowe which version it will play what do you think? I got 7th one.
Or is better be ready to PS3?
When it 'll arrive, forget PS2, new games will came out and if we can to
MODD as well as PS2 it will play ALL PS2 games also.
MICROSOFT is going to make DVD drive which will play XboX and PC games
booth, if SONY will do same thing and UNOFICIALY will play ALL XBOX games
also, than XBOX will sink down.

i dout that will ever happen lol the ps3 playing xbox games the xbox would go under cause ever one would just buy a ps2 that will play both ps3 and xbox 2 games and also the ps3 will use bd-rom disk which is very costly

What? To be technical here, Ps or ps2 Console games in general will be playable on Xbox or Xbox2 before vice versa B/c Xbox is a somewhat PC interface not sure about Xbox2 which is likely though due to what MS has indicated about the Specs on Xbox2..Sony consoles doesn't run on PC interface what's so ever..That's why some emulators on PS2 doesn't quite do it as it does the Xbox..I know we're just speaking just for laughs..

As for Dual Layer it's best bet that anyone that has patience should wait a while so that DL discs and burners are more effective/compatible with Consumer DVD players..By then Price will drop and affordable without the headache of flushing $$$ down with Roller coasters..

I play rips cause I don have a dvd writer........
It seems to be fine...........

Ughhh,

They mess up your laser because your laser has to focus more on them.

yeah the cheap dvd-rs are dodgy man. you wanna get the tdk dual layer they wont cause as much stress.
