FAPlink 0.87.1 works awesome. I was even able to use it to install some games the HDloader previously refused to install, like Twisted metal black and Jak and Daxter.

This is what I used.

1) Ultra ISO
2) Inlink 1.3.2
3) pukklink
4) FAPlink 0.87.1

I first made the ISO images with Ultra ISO, then downloaded pukklink and FAPlink and Inlink. I then burned pukklink to a CD-R a booted it on the PS2, then loaded Inlink on my PC and sent the .elf of FAPlink over to pukklink via my network. Once the Faplink .elf file was booted by pukklink I then configured the FAPlink server IP's to match my local network (This was hard to do as the first boot screen of the FAPlink server is PAL and I had to focus my eyes on a rolling screen, but the next screen isn’t think this), once the FAPlink server was up and running I closed Inlink and opened the FAPlink client on my PC, typed in the PS2's IP address on my network and connected, then chose the .iso file I had made with ultra iso previously typed in the name of the game that I wanted to see when HDloader boots and clicked Install and watched it create a HDloader partition and send the game data over to the PS2 via my local network. Yes it did take some time but I find even though it takes some time to be very convenient especially when it was able to install some games that I couldn’t get HDloader to install and also I don’t like the idea of every time I want to put a game on the HDD with the other tools like this you have to unplug your HDD from the PS2 then open your PC and plug it in there, reboot the PC and then reverse all this. I also prefer to take the HDD in and out of the PS2 as little as possible for the simple fact that I don't want the plugs to wear out over time, not to mention that I'm lazy.

Now I know the new version of FAPlink if suppose to be able to boot on its own with out the need for pukklink, but when I burner it to CD-R it wouldn’t boot, so I must be going something wrong, but the way I used it worked just great. Also there is a way to create a folder on your memory card with your networks IP info that the FAPlink will access so you don’t have to strain your eyes to navigate the first PAL screen with the IP config tool like I did. But I couldn’t figure out how to do this either.

khafan, any help here would be great to make this method even simpler then mine, mainly how to burn the FAPlink server to CD-R properly so the need for pukklink isn’t needed.

hey spedmetal.. i also had probs with booting the .elf from cd-r.. heres what u need to do.. you need to make a system.cnf file but change it to show this information!
"BOOT2 = cdrom0:\FAP_SRV.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = NTSC"
than add the fap_srv.elf file and use a dummy file.. then burn in nero with Mode2 selected!

EDIT: post if you can/cant get it to work.. if you cant i will post the .iso (if it will let me as its a fairly big file) and i also have dial up slow internet so if it works i wont try to post it..

EDIT: also.. you can save the disk you made to hdloader and boot it from there if you want!

Well here are my results. I made the system.cnf file just like you said, burned it and the FAPlink.elf file to a CD-R with a dummy file and booted it up in the PS2 and it worked great. However when I went to install it on the mem card using the Infinity mem manager it wouldnt install. It did however install to the HDD using HDloader, but when I went to run it from the HDD it wouldnt run. Does yours runn from the HDD? Did you have to change something in the .cnf file?
