How to backup Far Cry CDs onto one DVD?

I got the CD version and I want it backed up on DVDs.
I do not care for protection as I'm going to use the cracks anyway.
So, how can I put all the files on the DVD so that it does not ask for CDs during installation?

Thanks!

I did this just yesterday.

Create a folder on your HD called "Far Cry".

For each CD in turn, copy the entire contents directly into this folder, one after the other. For good measure I included the v1.2 Patch as well.

That's it. Simply burn that folder straight to DVD+R and you're done.

If you want to test it, try installing Far Cry straight from that folder before you burn it. The installer will proceed to 100% without prompting for any disks.

Not working. It keeps asking for CD2 and won't find it no matter what directory I put it in!

So you've got a Far Cry folder with all the files in it... particularly data1.cab, data2.cab, data3.cab etc etc?

Odd. Mine seems to work alright... though I got my CD backup off BitTorrent...

Yes. I need different INSTALL FILES. I don't know where to get them.

This may sound stupid but you're not INSTALLING the game into the folder then burning that to DVD are you?

I mean "copy" the contents of each CD in turn into the same folder then burn the whole lot.

Works from HD, but when I put on DVD - it asks for CD2 and cannot find data in the directory for CDs (even though its there) when I press OK.

I stand corrected, mate. I've just tried installing from DVD and it gives me the same error. Although you can burn to DVD as I described above, you'll need to copy all the files to HD first for you to install without the prompt.

Sorry about that.

Machina,

Can you explain what you did to get it working, please? I'd love to know.

Thanks,

Gauge.

I just got a DVD edition from a friend and copied. Legal since I got the CD edition myself (bought).

Sorry. Try getting installer files from somebody (all files besides folders and .CAB files). Not me though, slow upload!
