ok i have the step by step instructions off this web site. BUT!!! After it burns i take it out and look at the bottom of the dvd-r that i burnt. the area that the dvd drive has burnt to is only like 5inc compared to the lenth it is sapose to be like the lenth of the dvd. What have i got wrong? is it in the settings or what?

I went to put it in the ps2 after i burnt the image. it does its thing and comes up and syas (playstation2) and the screen goes black. I can here the inside of the ps2 trying to load the data (game). I come back 5min later and black screen and the same sound comming from the ps2?

what have i got wrong?
thanks!!!

Splinter Cell Pandora

I have tried to back this game up using RecordNow Max, Alcohol, DVD Decrypter and Instant Copy 8.0. The image you should have gotten is 1.68 MB or 1,813,446,808 bytes and will be a .gi so it only uses a portion of the DVD.

My copy boots normally, plays the background story and then goes to the menu for single, multiple and credits. When I select single player it goes to the black screen of death.

I have copied this program on several types of media and I finally broke down and ordered some Ritek GO4's that seem to have a more consistent dye coloration. I have seen several postings say they have copied it using the Ritek DVDs.

The bottom line is that I am not a newbie to this stuff and I have come to the conclusion that the program actually is making a second check after the initial boot - some chips and the ol' swap are not gonna work.

If you get it to work lemme know - I don't think that it is as simple as just extracting an image and burning it.

This problem may have nothing to do with the way you are backing up your game. The burn may be just fine but the laser in your PS2 is starting to show signs of wear.

What version is your PS2? What brand of media are you using? What mod chip do you have? Can you test your back-up on some else’s modded PS2?
