what you can do is do a text search on all the *.bin files for " CD001 ". since the lba is 11702 on the disc, look to ee if the bins have an lba of 11702. usually its maigo.bin, sg_dpldr.bin. in the dp3_us folder or whatever, you can binhack the 1st_read.bin, maigo and sg_dpldr.bin. idk about the bin in the tool folder. just open it in a hex editor and see if the lba is 11702. if it is, binhack it.

i will also re-selfboot this thing to lba 45000 so it goes back ot the game when you exit the browser. and a new dummy that is placed in the start of the cd.

What a great surprise this game has turned out to be.

Can we play online with this sucker or what? I'm under the impression that any official SEGA servers are closed now, but I'd assume that there must be a way for us to play online...

Jive3D wants to shoot YOU down!

hrb, good idea to stick with LBA 45000, I hadn't thought about the browser-returning-to-game thing. We can use both a longer audio track to get the 45000 offset AND a dummy file for the data track to make the ultimate PA version
Thanks for your reply!

da1m0n - you're name sure comes up a lot in reference to this game on other boards.

I posted this elsewhere, but since it seems that you are trying to make an ultimate version of PA - I noticed this with my version -

%90 of the The music audio seems to come from left speaker and %90 of the sfx & dialogue seem to come from the right speaker. I know that it is not my stereosetup.

I might as well as here too, since these boards usually have people who know what they are talking about - any chance we get to play online? or is that a far cry...

nah, i've tryed to selboot in echelon's sb method, used an audio.raw and cdrwin, got a lba 11700. added a 250mb dummy.
i done everything as ever i did and the game goes past sega logo and hangs...
nah, i'm without disc juggler now and mounted the cdi in daemon tools, copyed the disc with nero and everything goes right.
now i would like to see some game codes, maybe hidden planes or maps

nevermind, i got it to boot at 45000. same way as SSF2X. but wasnt able to exit back to the game from the browser. i left the maigo and sg_dpldr unhacked.

but i think i know why. one of the sg_dpldr or maigo bins has a reference to 2_dp.bin, which should be the web browser, but the name of the bootbins in the dp3 folders is 1st_read.bin, not 2_dp.bin. i dont know if this has anything to do with it, but i guess we'll have to figure this out....???

hrb2k, how did you get PA to boot from 45000 - it was my understanding that the main 1st_read.bin needed to be rehacked manually and just running binhack on it was not sufficient. Am I misinformed?

yes, the main 1st_read.bin has to be manually hacked. open it in a hex editor and do a hex string search for " 5C2E0000 ". only one instance should come up. change it to " 6EB00000". which is 45166 - 166 = 45000.

if you binhack the other bins, be sure to binhack the main 1st_read.bin last.

UPDATE: i successfully made a properly dummied, fully working disc of Propeller Arena. the dummy file is at the start of the disc and it now returns to the game after you exit the browser, but the gd drive grinds alot loading the index.htm of the browser. too bad i don't have the sorttxt.txt of the gd-r....

i booted it at lba 45000. and i had to hack the maigo.bins and sg_dpldr.bins. do a hex search for " 5C2E0000 " in the bins and change them to " 6EB00000 ". also, one of the maigo.bins needs to be hacked again at another address. i forget where, but its right before the previous instance of 5C2E0000. do a compare of the maigo in the root and in the dp3_us folder. i think the one in the root is unhacked, but i'm not sure. just copy the root maigo.bin to the dp3_us folder.

good luck.
