Unfortunately I can't upload sensibly sized files here.

Argh, I've adjusted my laser azimuth, and while my load time for my test backup dropped from almost a minute to 22 seconds, the stuttering still persists! Anything else I can try?

UPDATE: Being desperate and all, I tried downloading a full warez DVD backup of a game I own. It turns out that this warez backup worked and had no stuttering during movie sequences. So does that mean that RecordNow MAX (the program I use) is my problem? Are there any other good DVD backup programs that I can try besides RecordNow MAX?

Were you using RNM 4.50? You can give Alcohol 120% a try too.

Yes, I was using RNM 4.50. I will give Alcohol 120% a try now and hopefully that will work

Woohoo! I went to www.vaio.net and found a firmware update for my DVD Burner. Apparently, this was all I needed to do, because now my movies don't stutter! To everyone that helped me try to solve my problem: sorry for the trouble and thanks a ton for tryin to help anyways.

Ahh yes, the Sony's are known to have their share of issues with firmware.
