ok i unistalled nero and tried again still no luck, i think im going to strip my computer down (remove the dvd burner, geforce2, ram ) and reformat so its like i just bought it and then try adding things on again. thats all i can think of that'll work. the last time i reformated i left the dvd burner installed so maybe that could have been the problem

Thats ruffly what I had to do. I did not remove my drives but I did a complete re-install and added my burning software one at a time. Turns out that fireburner was giving me the problem.

what i did was removed my cd burner that came with the pc and put in the dvd burner as the master. and the computer didnt recognize it at all like i had no burner installed at all im lost with this **** now.

Maybe disableing/removing the cd burner before taking it out might have helped.

heres a few things ive tried. i set the dvd burner as slave and cd burner as master, no luck.
dvd burner as master cd burner as slave, no luck dvd burner as master all by itself, no luck dvd burner as slave to the hard drive, it noticed the burner but couldnt burn dvd's only cd's and now my set up it cdburner master and dvd burner slave and my computer doesnt see any cd-rom at all sublime90 and yes i changed the jumper settings all the times i still dont understand why it wouldnt recognize the dvd burner as a master all by itself when it recognized it linked up with the cd burner

im sure its not this but its only thing i can think of
is it possible are u sure u use the slave ide cable and not (a third ide cable which some pc now support) ps check your aspi layers try unistalling the ide controllers as to the drives and let it reinstall the ide controllers

many burning programs wil change yor aspi when u install it
unistall all burning software update your aspi unistal reinstall your burners check device manager (before loading any burning software are the drives recognised correctly??????? then install 1 bit of software,preferably prassi or recordnow (update pxengine),if u not got them use nero check if drive works add each writing software one at a time checking if writer still works once i installed instantcd/dvd( old version i think it was this program) when installing it mentions aspi layers and it has its own,once installed my pioneer 103 as it was then wouldnt work funny thing is the software was bundled with my drive

Do you have the lastest version of Nero? Had this problem back with record now max, the version I had did not see my DVD burner. But I updated the software to the lastest version and it saw it fine.
