help w/ pioneer ao5U installation

i need y'alls help. i just installed this dvd-r writer by replacing it w/ my sony cd writer. i also have a regular dvd-rom drive on my computer. when i turned on my computer it booted straight to my desktop as if there was no detection of the new writer or any problems that were detected. i clicked on system properties and there's a yellow flag on "second IDE controller(dual fifo) which is located under "Hard Disk controller". i'm going to reboot my computer again hoping this could help. btw:

win 98
128 mb ram
13 gb harddrive (7.5 gb free)

i appreciate your help.

ps. i placed it as a slave, while my regular dvdrom is the master.

When booting back up hit F1 or F2, what ever takes you to the setup screen. To add a new drive you have to set it up in there.

You got me thinking.... So I went home and took a look at mine.... It IS on a ATA100 ide cable......(Its been so long since I installed it, I wasn't sure).....

So far, I haven't had any problems with it on that cable.....

Maybe they fixed the problem when they came out with the A05???
