Thanx dust, but all I was doing was simply letting warlock know that there are discs that can boot ps2 copies - as i wouldn`t want peeps getting the impression that you couldn`t get any - especially with the cowboy fake sites knocking about. Of course the flip-lid voids yer warranty - hey but so does having a modchip fitted or have I missed something?

A TRUE BOOTDISC, would allow you to play copied games without the need for anything else.....No modification to your consoles lid, no knife trick to open the tray, and no mod chip...
The Swap Magic discs REQUIRE either a no solder mod, or the flip top cover, so that rules out it being a BOOTDISC.... And as Dust says, it wont boot all games....

Hmm, strange you should say that. So there must never have been any such bootdiscs for the PS1 either then? The reason I say this is for the fact you had to ensure you booted up the ps1 bootdisc with your lid open and to do that you had to use a spring for the PSX or an adhesive strip for the ps1 - is that not a modification? (ok - taking it to the extreme there
