PS2 BootDisc - Just Watch it!

First off I aint like the guys who ask 4 bootdiscs but I aint sure to do with that link:

You put 1 and 1 together..

Well, They say UNBELIEVABLE in their ads............
That's exactly what I would call it too......
Don't waste your money.....

Mug

 I've ordered one !

I've tried for weeks to find a thread in various forums on whether this disc is any good. So I threw some money at it (having found nothing).

Then I stumble across your posts. The outlook is gloomy then eh?

The only reason I've looked for a boot disc is coz I've fried one PS2 already and don't fancy another f-up. Gets expensive ya know:eek:

I admit if you read the spleel on their site it does sound good until you read the "We use same day shipping service" then next breath "allow 28 days".

Anyhow used the CC and CCnow who do their transactions seems half way respectable so should be secure in getting the $29 back if nothing happens.

Knowing my luck (which is sh*t at the moment) I'll have the most expensive jewel case and coffee coaster ever!

I'll let you know the outcome (ya never know) :D

There isnt and never will be a boot disc that will boot PS2 backups without a modchip. Thought that by now everyone would have known this.

Xebulous 30-10-2002 15:09

Yeah, the alternative is to find someone who can fix the first ps2 and install (successfully) the Magic2 v7 I bought.

Does anyone know of such a person with the midas touch.

(I am the anti midas : all the gold I touch turns to s*it)

I can give the symptoms if anyones feeling generous with their attention ??

Xebulous - Did you receive your bootdisc and try it?

I am also one of those mugs who ordered some (i ordered 5) (I also ordered ps1 bootdiscs which I am still waiting to be delivered (although I do know the ps1 bootdiscs work).

I cannot for the life of me get the PS2 bootdisc to work, I have submitted several enquiries to them, but never get a reply, so I am preparing to submit a formal complaint to ccnow, and also their webspace provider. If you read the terms & conditions of CCnow, you will notice that there is a section on their "Clients" Fraudulently providing goods, and in some cases they will provide their clients` contact details, and in circumstances will provide this information to the appropriate authorities.

I am now seeking Legal advice, and will be requesting that CCnow provide me with their personal contact details so that I can initiate a criminal prosecution for "Fraud & Obtaining monies by Deception".

Let me know if by any chance your disc worked mate!

By the way, the instructions provided by them are easily obtainable on the megagames website:

http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2swap/index.shtml

In fact, you will see it looks like they have just cut & pasted them into a word processing program - cheeky con artists!

For anyone reading this thread: DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS (speaking from the experience of a "certified" plonker who did:)

From what I understand you need to use it with No solder mod conjunctioned with Magic Boot Discs..

Xebulous 04-11-2002 11:45

I have not received the disc yet, if those are the instructions the disc is in no way shape or form the disc advertised.

I agree do not order from BDW.

Batchelorboy........I've done exactly the same as you, ordered 5 diascs and found I had to open my PS2 and also they didn't work........I also found the same instructions at megagames.com.

I have complained to CCNOW aswell and could you let me know how you get on ?

Cheers.........Jaybe

Xebulous.........if you have bought the disc then you've been ripped off like Batchelorboy and me..........you'll get the disc but will have to void your warranty and it probably won't work.

bachelorboy 07-12-2002 13:05

I ordered from that site because I was looking at re-selling in the future - so i was gutted when I was conned. I do now however retail the new SWAP MAGIC discs (only retail the pal european version 2.0 though). I am also an official reseller of the new PS2 Flip-Lid cover, so you can replace your existing cover and use th SWAP MAGIC boot cds without the need to remove your cover to play your games.

My site has been up and running for a little while now, and i have to say I was amazed at the volume of orders for SWAP MAGIC.

Check it out & place your orders knowing you are gonna get a good product that ACTUALLY WORKS!!!

and what will u guys do with the "boot discs" send them back or just break them?

bachelorboy 08-12-2002 02:59

Didn`t have to send them back - Just made a formal complaint to CCNow their credit card faclitator - who attempted to get a response from them on my behalf - they didn`t even reply to them! CCNow gave me a full refund. I had already sent numerous complaints through their website, but bootdiscworld just don`t reply - obviously because they are fraudsters!!! The ones i got from them are currently serving as nice coffee cup coasters! I never even got the ps1 discs i ordered from them!!!
