It's a tool used to copy the files off your game disk, to your PC. It is ran off the xbox. You use a program like FlashFXP to connect to your xbox through the bba, and connect to evoX. It is not needed to play backups, just to make them.

Ok first we start with the simple stuff.

Xbox "retail" DVD's cannot be read in your PC, nor can you copy them on your PC.

You must insert the "retail" DVD into your Xbox with Evolution-X running from the hard drive.

Once you do this, you then run FLASHXP on your PC to connect to your XBOX.

In flash XP open up the D:\ drive on your Xbox and you will see the contents of the retail DVD.

You then SELECT ALL and TRANSFER the files into a folder on your PC.

After it is done, exit FLASHXP.

Put a new DVD blank in your DVD recorder.

Start up RecordNowMax and select "New Job/ Data Disk".

Make RecordNowMax NOT take up the entire screen, so you can see "My Computer".

Open "My Computer" and find the folder you download the files to via FTP.

DOUBLE CLICK on that folder to open it (you are "moving into" it...).

With the folder open hit SELECT ALL. (CTRL-A)

DRAG AND DROP everything into the right hand "spreadsheet" type window in RecordNowMax.

Hit burn, watch some tv.

When it's done, insert into Xbox, reboot and be amazed.

Does anyone has good experience with this way of backing up games?
Is a lot easier than making the ISO file first.

Greetz,

beertje

Did you set up the evoX dashboard, or are you using evoX off the cd-rw/dvd.
Dropdown menu? I have no Idea what your talking about. Goto "[File]-->"Quick Connect", then type in the xbox ip address, and (depending on which version of evoX you have) type in the user name and password (which is xbox/xbox by default).

Do you need to chip the x box? If so how much is it because i think i may get it done so i can back up my games when i have bought them.

And what sort of stuff will i need to connect the X Box to my PC to copy the contents off the CD, if it's possible could someone write a .doc tutorial for me and attach it on the post. If they will be kind enough! Thanks

Go with The Matrix, you don't need to solder any thing, and you can install it in about 5 min. They cost about $55-$60 USD.

The PC DVD-rom cannot read xbox games. So you have your xbox read it instead. The ftp is used to connect to your xbox, then to copy the files directly off the dvd, which is sent through the network to your PC.
So what is this program used to transfer the files to your PC? What is the exact process?
