Question Why not XP?

Why do you say that unsafedisc doesn't work on Windows XP? I recently used it on Windows XP to make a crack for Motocross Madness 2.

And, what can be used to get rid of the Safecast?

on a NT based OS, unSafedisc can unwrap all Safedisc 1 versions up to "R3", but not "R4" (i.e. v1.45.xx and v1.50.xx)

That's good to know. Why is that?

from unsafedisc's history log:

; v1.4
; about 480 lines of code added to compute the 128bit key, unwraps safedisc v1.45.11 (r4) now!
; doesnt work on win2k anymore (i cant load dplayerx.dll on win2k (and i dont have win2k))
; whats better, a real program or a real gui?
; does moelch hate me? who knows ..

for Safedisc R4, dplayerx.dll has to be loaded as it contains an encrypted function needed to fix the FF15 calls. r!sc loads dplayerx with LoadLibraryExA, but it crashes on an NT system while doing this (never tried to find out why).

Unsafedisc only creates a fixed .exe too. You have to remove CD-Checks manually.

Is the Defiance only the Fixed Exe to run backup or a real nocd-patch?

If so, please send it at my mail: [email protected]

Talking

Finally got a NoCD Patch running...

The Fixed Exe from www.megagames.com does NOT Work, but the Patch Instructions are right.
You need a Version WITHOUT the Safedisc Shit.
So I fixed a Exe I made with Safedisc Annihilator and patched that.

To download, you can grap my fixed exe here: Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries NoCD
Please look in the Download Section on the left Side.

Hope it works for you.
