Well, Safedisk2 is sure copyable, but u will spend few blank disks, guesing the right configuration - the easiest way is to create the CDimage with all "Read SubChannnels" selected

I'm using Sony CRX160, sure it's great, coze it's got 0 (zero) buffer-underruns, well at least I never got one and I have a dozen of SD2 "cloned' disks that work great!

Hitman is really touchy to copy. I have burned it twice and both disc's worked just fine. The last one I burned I had to get the patch for it? I think alot of it has to do with you system and how it is setup for the day.

i assure you that sd2 IS copyable. i have a TEAC W54E and have recently made a fully operational copy of dflw and mw4 with having no patch at all. you just need to right program and the right cdrw. most people say the you must have a philips technology based cd writer in order to copy the sd2 protections. i found that either this isnt true or my TEAC has this technology. i have used the copy i made and #####ed it out on several other computers ie. friends, and the copy works perfect. i can even use the patches and updates for the game. need i remind that dflw #####s the authenticity of certain files to ensure their originality.

anyway. all these replies to this forum makes me think that either you wont believe me.....or there are just lotsa jelous people out there that cannot copy sd2 protected cds. in any case i have living proof that sd2 protections are copyable.....whether you believe or not, is on you. but either way, im happy and i guess your not.

i used clone cd to make my copies. i used the clony settings:

read subchannel data from data track - #####ed
read subchannel data from audio track - #####ed
fast error skip - #####ed
read speed - 4X
read retries - 3
error correction - none

everything else un#####ed

these are the settings i used. i have made perfect copies of safedisc2 protections. no cracks needed. it works on other computers. i have used the cd in several different drives....even my piece of shit compaq....and it works fine. i hope these settings will help some of you.

i thought i was unfortunate to be able to copy safedisc2 protections. i never tried to do it because of all the forums that i have read. however...i finally tried it anyways and have been successful. it seems that if one person posts it, then people assume that it is correct. well i find that to be untrue. good luck all.

Raven (17-02-2001 07:41):
Can a Mitsumi CR-4804TE copy and successfully make a working backup of Safedisc v2 games? The 4804TE does RAW reading and RAW writing, as well as sub channel reading for both audio and data. I have read some posts somewhere that this CD-RW does copy and burn SD2 games... Anyone use this drive?
Would also like to know if a creative 8432e can copy sd2 and if so how - just a newbie so any help great

Yes a Mitsumi CDRW 4804te can copy safedisk v2, or so it can for me and i use 3.0d firmware.

I have copied RA2 and hitman, no probs in using it in my cdrom (ACER 50x) and a buddies creative 52x and another friends 40x Asus.
I didnt select anything i read it as fast as it could and i burned it at 1x, it took awhile to burn but no probs!
It can be done!, but it appears that Mitsumi's are the very best to do it with!

German Flag said that Mitsumi's are philips based products, not true!!
In fact with my writer i have been very successful in writing many copyright protected cd's including safdisk v2 with a copy!
Maybe im lucky or patient but it has been completely 100% successful for me and to think i had a HP 7570 before this, lol!

CheerS!

Woa this topic has been open for a loooooong time!

I have a Mitsumi CR4805TE (which is a slightly faster 4804TE), and till the moment I think is one of the greatest writers available!

Now I've been trying to backup my B&W game, but I'm not obtaining perfect copies cos my Creative CD5233E doesn't work with them, although the writer reads them with no flaws. Anyway the Creative crap takes at least 3-5 min. to load the original, so I'm thinking it's on the bleeding edge.

żDo you have any special tips? I used SONY CDRW's to test, got a coaster with a Kodak but I think I didn't burned it correctly that time.

Please don't say me I've spent almost 70 bucks in changing my old Panasonic shit for this baby just to continue applying cracks plz.

Greets

Any writer can do Safedisc 2 using Unsafedisc 2_05_30. Download the program and send me a mail to help you!

this is notrue, for starters my burner Ricoh MP6200S is not supported by Clone CD and according to the doco never will be. I've tried 4 times to copy eRacer and haven't been successful yet. As for using unsafedisc2, when you try to crack the eracer.exe file it prompts for the original cd and then returns an error. the only way I been partially successfuly is to take an ISO image and use daemon tools to mount this as a virtual cd rom, but I'd rather have a carbon copied cd.
