Sorry for double posting, I've made the thread in the wrong section and I wasn't able to delete the first one. About that fix, it doesn't work because the game's exe reads the file "protect.dll" that requires some drivers that needs to verify if the CD is inserted. The problem is that it cannot be verified it because I cannot install the driver due to compatibility reasons, and these drivers are so old that are not compatible with Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10, so the exe doesn't even try to verify it if the CD is inserted, hence the mini backup is to no use. Also, this mini backup can't even be mounted by any program because there's only one .mds file inside the rar (the .mdf file is missing). I've tried with Alchool120 and Daemon Tools but nothing seems to work.

You need a crack (the no-CD EXE, not the other ), nothing else will work. Copy protection authors never cared about what will happen when the underlying platform changes significantly (new operating system), their customers' short time gains are preferred against the long time rights of end users.
