Yes, (the installation program of) that no-CD patch (or whatever) is in a language with a non-Latin character set. (Might be Chinese, Japanese, Arabian; actually, it doesn't matter much for English speakers...)

This is what worked for me. Installed the game. (this is important
 )1. Update/patch to version 1.1 (splinter_cell_double_agent_1_00_to_1_01) 26MB. 2. Mount the NS-SCDAMI.MDS Maxi-Image in DAEMON Tools v4.06 (SPTD v1.37) 3. Activate YASU 4. Execute the SCDALauncher from ?:\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent 5. Play the Game!
