Even changing Alcohol's name virtual SCSI bus, mini image trick doesn't work. I think it's a sort of blacklisting problem regarding newer StarForce 3.4.71.xx
I hope a new version of Star****er or StarForce Nightmare could fix this problem, or wait for a Reloaded crack.

The new StarForce Version used in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is very similar to the one used in Silent Hunter 3 but there is one difference:

The "virus" installed by StarForce to prevent DPM reading was removed when uninstalling StarForce 3 drivers in the version used in Silent Hunter but those "virus" installed by the StarForce used in Splinter Cell 3 is not removable by uninstalling the SF drives.

So it is necessary to make the DPM on another PC (where no StarForce drivers were ever present). But if you have a working DPM it is no problem to burn an RMPS copy wich works in USB 2.0 drives perfectly (when all IDE drives are disabled).

Hi Karlmueller,

I don't understand the problem you had about DPM measurement with the new SF protection from
Splinter Cell 3.

In fact, after installing this game, i can't anymore extract DPM info with alcohol (stuck at 0%).
But after running "sfclean.exe" program + reboot, i was able to extract DPM info (at 1x with precision
high).

Then i've burnt the DVD , activated RPMS emulation with alcohol, physically disconnected all my IDE drrives and i put my IDE DVD burner in an external USB2.0 adapter.

When i run the game, the authentification process starts, hangs at 25%, and after 1/2 minutes, it gives an error.

Do u think my DPM info are wrong (even if was extracted at 100% without problem) ?

PS: after 1.01 patch, the safedisc prtoection goes from 3.4.71.19 to 3.4.75.03

For all you have problem with the external USB2.0 drive : i've read
in a german forum that in some cases, a registry "hack" was needed :

supress SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Splinter Cell Chaos Theory\Keys' all 'HardwareProfile ***

Maybe it helps ? (i'll try it this evening)

Why wasn`t a crack already released for SC3? There is always a crack on gamecopyworld for Lego Star Wars that is using the same protection like SC3 (http://gamecopyworld.com/) SecuRom7. If i can trust gamecopyworld.

The problem is that the Splinter Cell 3 copy always detects daemon-tools. But there is a proper solution, to stop StarForce scanning for daemon-tools! I translated it from the german, so please excuse me for mistakes .

1. Start Regedit.

2. Goto: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi" and you will see some folders with this syntax "Scsi Port X".

3. Search through the folders for an entry called this: "Driver=d347prt". This is the daemon-tools drive.

4. Now to stop the copylock from scanning for daemon-tools simply rightclick on the folder which includes the D-Tools drive and click on "Permissions" (i don't know if this is socalled in english version of winxp).

5. Now you will have to activate "Deny/Read only" at "Administrators" (i don't know if this is socalled in english version of winxp).

NOTE: You always have to repeat this steps after reboot, but it works fine for me.

What is working? Playing SCCT by loading its image to a D-Tools virtual driver after using this Registry tweak?

AFAIK, that Registry tweak is for Securom 7 protected games, not Starforce.
