To be honest, I think RiDisc media has gone real downhill. I have some 8x ones and towards the edge of the disc, they just don't burn. There are real big gaps like thumb marks on the edges of the discs all around the circumference about 1cm apart - even when the disc is spotless. Really poor stuff IMHO.
So I got some DataLifePLUS 8x DVD-R and I've used 3 so far - all of them were over the 4.4GB mark and all are perfect

I bought fujifilm DVD-r
5 for 10 euro I life in europe and they dont have those dvd's you guys are talking about. so i bought these, i've read they're from pioneer, and it's good for backing up ps2 games. my ps2 will me chipped soon, i dont think these i bought suck :P

I have the TYG01's, I got 100 of them for about $35 US. It was strange since they did not have any label or identification on the disk but my burner reads the disk as TYG01. Do you know if the TYG01 are still good media to use for backup's. Not sure what the difference between the two are.
