cheap dvd-r's good for backup?
Hi,
I saw 10 dvd-r's for 15 euro 4x speed of Nashua, i think that is cheap. Are cheap dvd-r's good for backup ps2 games? |
Nope
|
No, use only Quality media. Also, use the search engine, This has been covered many times
|
many, many, many times. Basically you buy cheap ones, You do a few burns, they seem to work fine, a few weeks later your ps2 struggles to read them, a few weeks later your ps2 struggles to read any dvd put in it. Boomshanka - you've stressed yr laser out.

i need a R type and a 400b type laser 2 where do we get a decent one from? i dont want no cheap crap ones that will last a month and die!
|
I seen an 500pack of dvd-r's for 120.00 with free shipping. They are not the best quality, the game will play but maybe sometime the audio skips. But 500 for 120.oo is not bad at all. But they work great for my dvd movies so that is why I got them.

I wouldnt use anything other than top quality DVD-R on a PS2...
|
yus but dont buy ridisc printable ones from svp there very crap
|
Verbatim DataLifePLUS DVD-R is awesome stuff. Those are available at SVP - and use an 8x MCC dye.
|
I'm still using the TY G02 dvd-r media. Both my PS2's, My Xbox and dvd players seem to love them.
@Seany, I bet there the new ridisc with the G05 dye. |
nope its not some cheap old ****
|
To be honest, I think RiDisc media has gone real downhill. I have some 8x ones and towards the edge of the disc, they just don't burn. There are real big gaps like thumb marks on the edges of the discs all around the circumference about 1cm apart - even when the disc is spotless. Really poor stuff IMHO.
So I got some DataLifePLUS 8x DVD-R and I've used 3 so far - all of them were over the 4.4GB mark and all are perfect :) |
I bought fujifilm DVD-r
5 for 10 euro I life in europe and they dont have those dvd's you guys are talking about. so i bought these, i've read they're from pioneer, and it's good for backing up ps2 games. my ps2 will me chipped soon, i dont think these i bought suck :P |

I have the TYG01's, I got 100 of them for about $35 US. It was strange since they did not have any label or identification on the disk but my burner reads the disk as TYG01. Do you know if the TYG01 are still good media to use for backup's. Not sure what the difference between the two are. |
